If we need to rebuild our CB corp, these would be great pickups. Any idea if we have interest and if so, what type of contracts they would want? The way I see it, we need #2 and slot CB. Not sure if we use the draft to address one of these needs or go through FA.

We just have so many holes each year with this team. Thank heavens we have some cap room this year. I would rather build through the draft but we have too many holes to solely use the draft. We still need an ILB and NT on defense in addition to the two CBs. On offense we need to address LG for once and need a WR. A back up TE and RB would be good as well. So, we are looking at:

Defense:
NT (starter)
ILB (starter)
CB (starter)
Slot CB (starter)

Offense:
LG (starter)
WR (starter)
TE (back up)
RB (back up)

So 6 starters and 3 back ups. We can probably get 2 immediate starters from the first 2 rounds of course...or that should be the expectation. The draft can be used to build depth and hopefully find another starter would be good. We will have to use our cap space wisely to address as many holes as possible.

Yes - Colvin
No - Fuller

I'm not sure who the DB coach is in Chicago but he does a great job. I'm not sure we have the same ability to maximize Fuller's play.

As for RB could be a starter. I am not sold on Perine. I think he lacks some burst and if his first season is any indication he has some ball security issues.

for a 4th round pick , perine has a role with us . next off season should tell us something . a 4th round pick is typically a BU guy . he learned a lot of lessons so hopefully some of the lessons stuck . he should be a good rotational guy for us

Colvin makes good sense in DC. He's been the slot CB in Jacksonville, but he wants to play outside (where the CBs get paid more) more often. I think Washington could offer him that chance, but that makes his contract offer a bit of a gamble--b/c you don't know if he can be successful on teh outside.

The Bears DB coach is Ed Donatell--he is VERY good, but Fuller is very up and down as a FA CB prospect. He was so disappointing that the Bears declined his 5th year option and brought in some middle of the road vets to fill in his spot. THEN, his play suddenly got better in a contract year. The system didn't suddenly change--he's been in Fangio's system being coached by Donatell for a few years now. That's a big red flag imo. It makes Fuller a much riskier choice.

Yeah he has done outstanding work. I've always admired his work and reclamation projects. I wonder why he hasnt been interviewed for any coordinator positions?

Tracy Porter who was terrible in DC became a quality starter in Chi
Prince Amukamara who was looking like he'd never live up to his 1st round potential became a solid starter in Chi
Adrian Amos, Eddie Jackson, Chris Conte
Marcus Cooper

a very old Peanut Tillman
and

Kyle Fuller

Based off of Donatells work with journeymen type players and the ups and downs you mentioned I would avoid Fuller

He's going to get a pretty decent contract offer and I dont think it would equate to very much ROI

We didnt really dick over his brother we traded him to a better situation and organization. Being local guys I bet Kyle Fuller would love to return "home"

and the skins FO has enough lack of respect for the fans intelligence that signing Kyle Fuller is exactly a Bruce Allen move to keep the ones upset about losing his brother happy.
