In The Slot: Source: Blues, Senators engaged in strong dialogue regarding Hoffman, Brassard

According to a source, the Blues and Ottawa Senators have been engaged in serious discussion regarding two of the Senators' forwards, right wing Mike Hoffman and in the recent past few days, center Derick Brassard.

Among the names believed to be in the mix going to the Senators are forwards Vladimir Sobotka and Patrik Berglund.

Lol ok then. I'll take a Hoffman for Berglund please.

Wood of the Devils will likely get suspended. Left his feet to hit a guy from behind into the boards.

Oli Maatta needs to learn not to stick his blade into a guy's skate when you're that close to the end boards.

The new icing rule has cut down the incidence of that sort of play, but there's an example of how dangerous those plays can be when two guys skating full speed are reaching for the puck. Have to be extra conscious of your stick, and Maatta was not.

I think Miles may have a suspension or fine coming his way.

I can't tell if there was direct contact to the head, but it certainly checks a lot of the other boxes at least:

1. Left his feet.

2. From behind into the boards.

3. It's hard to see in the vine, but it looked to me on TV that he came from the opposite end of the ice to make the hit.

He might have thrown a kidney shot in the fight, too. Definitely worked the body a bit from behind, but I'm pretty sure that's not what DoPS is going to be looking at.

He hasn't done this sort of thing before, though, has he? He looked possessed for a minute out there last night, though.

Raise your hand if you're surprised.

...

No one? Yeah, seems about right.
WHat is this country coming to. I am standing up for a Capital player and agree with their coach!
Sadly mental idiots even get front row seats sometime.

I could say that about pretty much any city.

The lack of surprise is more that there are some racist hockey fans just as there are some racist everythings.

Yeah. Is what I'm saying. I suspect hockey even draws in more racists because the sport is so populated by white guys, too.
