The 2018 IMSA 24-Hours of Daytona is underway with the overall leader of three classes right now being Christain Fittipaldi in a Cadillac DPI. There are many stories in this race and Chip Ganassi goes after a 200th win in major league auto racing covering IMSA, IndyCar, and NASCAR competitions.

This milestone sort of/kinda puts him the same class as the 200-win greats like Richard Petty and others. Soooo, coverage goes all night long and into tomorrow. It is indeed America's version of the best known endurance races.

Update:

Christian Fittipaldi leads the race overall and the P class in a Cadillac DPI

Dirk Mueller is 17th overall and leads the GTLM class in one of Chip Ganassi's Ford GT's. I know CHip is smiling.

Luca Stolz is 28th overall and leads the GTD class in a Mercedes AMG GT3

After a crash in qualifying, he started the race mid-pack in the P class. Presently he is driving and occupies P 11 in the race overall and in the P class.

Pretty good racing on night long and into the morning. Another good race. Here are the results.

FILIPE ALBUQUERQUE in the #5 CADILLAC DPI takes the overall race win and the P class.

RYAN BRISCOE in the #67 FORD GT of Chip Ganassi takes the GTLM class.

MIRKO BORTOLOTTI #11 in the LAMBORGHINI HURACAN GT3, takes the GTD class.

Looks like Ganassi Racing has it's 200th win unless they were counting the overall race leader as the win to add to his total.

See everyone next year.
