Anyone else confident their team has a decent chance of going undefeated this season?

This line of thought intrigues me. I can see an argument that all games should be P5 games, although I do not agree with it, but to argue that if we swap our Washington game with the Liberty game then somehow our schedule will be okay even though we will have played the same teams.
SOS it shouldn't make any difference at all. But I think it's a sneaky way to get a weeks rest in that shouldn't be allowed. Just my opinion. You guys still play what looks like a tough schedule so it won't make a difference playing Liberty.

I would much rather play Liberty then and get a great OOC matchup to start the year. Were FCS games banned, we would probably have a bye week scheduled there. It beats the hell out of a straight Amen Corner that we used to have.

EDIT: Amen Corner was our November schedule of Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
Amen Corner - in a single month, it was all on the line

That's strange, looking at Washington's schedule, I see them starting off 0 - 1.

We've had those type losses each of the past two years. If we don't take measures to fix our passing game we'll do it again this year.

Forgot you lost to Pitt in 2016 also

But yes if you don't fix it you'll get exposed in the playoff, you'll be able to make the playoff without it though with how much you return on that defense

Spoken like the true loser of the Iron Bowl ... congrats on the natty though.

For Auburn:
Sept. 1: Washington, Chick-fil-A Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta
Sept. 8: Alabama State, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Sept. 15: LSU, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Sept. 22: Arkansas, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Sept. 29: Southern Miss, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Oct. 6: at Mississippi State, Davis Wade Stadium
Oct. 13: Tennessee, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Oct. 20: at Ole Miss, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Nov. 3: Texas A&M, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Nov. 10: at Georgia, Sanford Stadium
Nov. 17: Liberty, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Nov. 24: at Alabama, Bryant-Denny Stadium

Outside of the Chic-fil-A game, our schedule is back loaded. My concerns are that we have lost our running backs and three O-linemen. The good news is that we have Coach Hand back on the O-line and I have great confidence in him.

IMHO there are not any sure losses on the schedule. If we make it past Washington, our toughest game until November will be LSU @home. We have a chance to go into the DSOR undefeated. From that point, all bets are off. @UGA and @Alabama in two weeks is a tough row to hoe for anyone. Can we do it? Yes. Confident? Never.

I want to give you props for playing Washington even though it's practically a home game but at the same time you're playing two FCS opponents???

That's a joke

Perhaps, but it is not like we have a Mountain West Conference schedule. FWIW I would rather see a G5 team there but to be honest, it is either play FCS or have a bye week scheduled and play them earlier. Our SOS is fine.

Game 1 is tough for Washington. Just feel that someone else will have one of those days and upset Washington.

But you do have a decent chance. No one is a lock of course. With today's passing game it's very hard to run the table.

If it is a 10 win season I will be very happy. I expect a 9 win and maybe an 8 win season this year. We lost some serious O Line power, Mayfield (although I expect Murry will do well enough) and well, 'cause Mike.

people used to say Oregon had a Stanford problem because Stanford beat oregon like 3 times out of 8 years Oregon was in contention.
UW is at .500 so far with them and i think Stanford will continue to be a problem.
