It was a joke post. Our guards did not shoot well in second half. I totally agree. It happens.

I hear you. Hoping we somehow win today. Got a few easy games upcoming with the exception of Houston. After tonight, we should win 3 of 4 and if we win tonight then it should be 4 of 5

I don't think it was an adjustment thing. It was a make or miss thing. We got shots we wanted and shots we were hitting in the 1st half. Went 1-17 at one point in the 3rd quarter. Not on the coach at all.

We're 26-19 going through our toughest week of the season (only week where we play 5 games) and in the midst of a stretch where we're playing 11 of 14 on the road.

I'm totally fine with where we are right now. Considering all the injuries we had to deal with, to be 26-19 and in 4th place is fine by me.

Should be able to win 3 of our next 5. Possibly 4 of 5

First and foremost, I will say I am not against 3pt shots - but I truly get annoyed, especially by our somewhat apologist(in my opinion) color analyst calling them "good shots" or " shots we want" My take has always been, if you are THAT open, you should be able to get an even better shot by attacking the basket. I know a stat was mentioned some weeks ago on the broadcast that the Heat were up there in drives to the basket, or something along those lines -- but it still doesnt seem like enough consider the volume of 3's they take.

I know you were at the game last night and dont usually get the home broadcast when you watch at home, im guessing? But our broadcasters too often said/say during the second half " the heat have no rhythm on offense/their shots" a lot of that is ball movement, or lack of -- IMO, a lot of it was the quality of their shots.

The Heat got complacent last night. At some point they have to realize they are STILL NOT good enough to get away with that even with a 15-20+ point lead.

As for the defense, dont get me started -- from missed assignments to lack of effort -- we just gave them far too many easy baskets in the opening minutes of the second half. There did not seem to be enough or good enough communication on defense and a lot of finger pointing.

As I often say, injuries are an issue, but we cant continue to use that fact as an excuse for constant issues for this team especially on defense.

Lets see if tonight the heat can get back on track on continuing to build consistency on good habits

I wouldn't say JJ has regressed to his norm. He is not a one dimensional player. Bad night for him though. I do agree that money on Waiters seems like a waste. His numbers are almost identical to last year except for PPG which is down as he's getting fewer shots per game this year.

Last year he was at 12.8 PPG, 5 RPG, and 3.6 APG on 47% shooting from the field and 34% from 3.
This year he entered the game tonight at 10.3 PPG, 5 RPG, and 4 APG on 47% shooting and 32% from 3.
Last year he avg over 10 shots per night. This year he is only at 8.

If he continues at this pace, this will be his 2nd best year of his career. Only last year was better so I'm fine with JJ. He's not a consistent offensive player and we know that.

Youll have to show me where we " agree" "that money on Waiters seems like a waste" since I did not even mention such a thing or think such a thing.

As for JJ, im just annoyed by the fake tough guy and think is overrated to his and this team standards.

I get annoyed by his refusal to use his size and strength and versatility to go inside. And his and this teams insistence on running offense through him when we have Goran on the floor as well. We currently may not have options beyond that - but JJ simply makes too many bad decisions/turnovers to continue to let him continue to run the offense especially at crunch time.

I am not a fan of predicting records at any point in the season, but since you brought it up to some extent. Even as the Heat are on this high of sorts even with the loss last night -- I still think this team looks like a 40 to 42-win team. That range would be great considering the injury situations that we often talk about and how this team started -- Where that actually will leave us at seasons end will determine how losses like last night, of which we have had enough of this season, will haunt us if tie-breakers become a factor for seeding/HCA.

Lets see what tonight brings

Ellington will start for Dragic - the hits just keep coming.

Cant win them all but for some reason, losses seem to have a double-edged sword with the Heat - whether its losing a player during that game or losing one for the next or beyond.

Oh well, next man up - and " we have enough" as the Heat often say must be the attitude and just find a way

Good to see JJ rediscovering the art of going inside

Agreed. Good start for the Heat, but its about the finish. Too often the Heat have made good starts irrelevant to how they finish games

And, as E-Reid just said - Heat doing some early damage in the paint. If they continue to do that - their early lead will continue to rise as the game goes.

No complacency

After 1, the Heat are +4 after giving up one of their famous almost at the buzzer 3pt shots

That scoop has become a thing for Richardson - if he goes to that more often and stays away from outside shots , he will continue to trend upward

Really like how Walton Jr attacks the board as a PG

+9 for Heat at the half.

Lets see if they come out with the necessary attitude to close it out

JJ the turnover machine early on in this half just trying to do too much with the ball -- more than he needs to or should be asked to do

J-Rich and his defense causes a scrub battier moment... too close for comfort for the Heat

I know Spo don't like doing it but may have to hack Dwight at some point in this half

Turnovers and not enough attacks to create FT attempts and now a deficit of 10 into the 4th - and another horrible loss could be coming - if the Heat dont get right and get some luck bouncing their way here soon

The Dragic injury is unfortunate, was hoping he would get PT especially in a " if necessary" moment like now
