Hmm, how many of their HC's were fired after the season?
Currently, both that I know of, are no longer employed by those universities.

Well it can’t get much worse but it doesn’t mean that it’s going to be greatly better. Having a legitimate QB but if he is constantly running to survive it’s not going to help. Michigan also has problem in the play calling. Eight consecutive passes in a monsoon. Giving the ball to Evans and Isaac over Higdon.
Yeah, I got nothing for that. All correct. Playcalling, coaching, line play -- all have to get better. But if Patterson does get to play, our offense should be better even if all things stay the same. But he'll definitely be limited because of all the other things mentioned. At least he's a runner so he should be able to run for his life behind our line pretty well.

The hope is that all that youth forced into playing this year actually progresses. So the line, the WR's and the QB's start to gel a little more.

Help me out here.

What's the problem. The guy is suppose to be a great coach.

Tressel won a NC in his second year at Ohio St.
Saban won one his third year at Bama.
Saban won one his third year (I think) at LSU
Meyer won one his second year at Florida
Meyer won one his second year at Ohio State
Stoops won one his second year at Oklahoma

When Michigan hired him...what impressed the school the most...how he
dominated Morehead State or how he dominated Davidson when he was
at the Univ of San Diego?

He hasn't started as quickly as we would have liked, but there's no questioning that he's turned us around very quickly. Just 3 years ago we were struggling to make bowl games. And as I've pointed out ad nauseam, what some of these coaches started with at other schools is drastically different than what Harbaugh started with at Michigan. We had two good classes, but also two pretty bad classes, that he had to work with when he got there. Those two bad classes were our seniors this year.

This is good.
Not sure what getting eligibility means though.
We need more input:

Getting eligibility means improving you present school work or going to a summer or prep school and getting grades other than F or Incomplete. OR They need to take then SATs.
Lot of kids are not getting full scholarships to start college because they didn't take the SAT or had someone else take it and scored a 260.

Looks like 7-5 Regular Season unless some team gets hot like Nebraska then it goes to 6-6.
They could struggle in Evanston. Otherwise this looks good.

Patterson is transferring from Ole Miss and trying to bypass the sit out period.

They're Michigan.

So they'll go 8-4.

Like they do every year.

Dammit, Rob! It's the bloody off-season. There are 220-something days until the first regulation snap. Now is not the time for some feint at realism. Now is the time for revery! I want to see you write convincingly of how the Angry Weasels are going to go 13-0 and make the playoffs. Do it!

The same goes for the rest of you Michiganders! If you're not out-maizing @MAIZEandBLUE09, then you're not ingesting enough mood-altering substances! Your posts should attract turds like a lone porta-potty at a high-rise construction site. Get to posting!

That offensive line was as much trash as the quarterback play was in 2017 and they are losing their best OLineman. They will need to make huge strides there for Shea to make that much of a difference.

We threw for 9 tds and 10 interceptions last year. No position played worse than QB. Hell — you could go a step further and say the last two years, almost every loss, sans PSU was directly related to our QB.

The OL wasn’t good, but the QB play was atrocious.

There is only one MnB — any UM fan saying they are going to go 13-0 don’t follow football. Too many questions on the offensive side of the ball. Hell — we don’t even know who the QB will be?!?

All that post confirms is OSU, Bama, LSU and Oklahoma has coaches who recruited well before other coaches took over.

You aren’t winning a NC in today’s CFB without a top QB unless you have Bama’s RB’s and defense of 5 stars backing up 5 stars. UM’s best QB since Harbaugh took over was Jake Ruddock, who transferred in after losing his job at Iowa. He has had only one QB he recruited on the active roster (Brandon Peters).

And why would you be talking about San Diego, when he coached at Stanford and the 49ers since that job?

How many times have you tried to pimp Jimmy Jam up by mentioning what he did @ S.D. & S.F. while ignoring he hasn't won a damn thing in ann arbor?

It's hard to predict anything at this point. Our season changes dramatically if Patterson is eligible or not.

Yea, too bad UM doesn't get to start off this season with a easy win by playing Florida.
