So the "partners" of the board lean on the Owner to get Tomlin out, and Haley get's canned instead?

Hell nobody in Pittsburgh can stay on task, always looking ahead!

His contract was up, it's not being renewed. I doubt the limited partners had anything to do with this, it was likely coming for some time now

Serious questions, Steelers fans:

Bell has had a lot of success under Haley. Do you have any concern that a new OC might not be as compatible with Bell as Haley was? Might this sway your preference to move Bell now while stock is high?

Yeah not really concerned there. Bell is great at improvising and also I think the new OC will be internal (IE Munchak (out in Arizona HC position) or Randy Fichtner.

As long as they don't keep a toss sweep on 4th and 1 in the playbook.

Crazy to say, but Bell might become more scary good with the OC being on the same page with Big Ben.

As for Haley he really wasn't canned his contract was up and wasn't renewed.
Steelers To Hire New Offensive Coordinator

Ben would win in this case no matter what and I think the Haley incident in the bar might have been the icing on the cake.

what is this list you speak of? it's not @outofyourmind 's list is it?

Bennett( production has deteriorated alot over the past 2 years. Not worth is contract, his offsides or his constant fights)
Lane( Never liked him. Too much cushion on certain routes)
P Richardson( I love the guy. Great Vertical and body control but too much money)
Fat Eddie
Jimmy Graham( Great Pass Catcher, which Bevall underutilized, but piss poor blocker)

Pitt scores 40+ points against the best defense in the AFC. Loses game due to turnovers and bad clock management.

Lets OC walk

By definition 'limited partners' have zero say in the operations of a team/business. Lobbying a general/managing partner is a one way express ticket out of the partnership. Limited partners are also called silent partners for a very good reason. This is why I put zero creditability in reports about limited partners lobbying Art.

Truthfully it wasn't just that game. There have been challenges for a while with Ben and Haley and Ben will win no matter what.

Oh, I know. I'm sure talking with Haley about offensive plays is about as much fun as talking with an ex-wife about finances. He isn't the most player friendly guy at all.

I'm just not sure the Steelers are going to get someone better to replace him. If it comes down to Ben or Haley, you obviously pick Haley to walk, though.

Bell's success wasn't due to Haley. That had more to do with a top 5 O-line & coaches riding the shit out of his coattails...

Just look at his touches (rushing & receiving) over the last 2 years:
2017: 406 (15 games)
2016: 336 (12 games - 4 game suspension)

He averaged 21.6 carries & 7.5 targets per game over that span. According to NFL Stats & Info, Steelers averaged 65.6 plays per game over those 2 years. That means Bell received 44% of the offense's calls.

So long as the O-line stays intact, and the OC continues the same formula, I have zero concerns.

Side note knowing how RB's fall off the face of the earth at age 30 and the amount of touches he gets I wonder if he will even make it that far?
