Zaxby’s Heart Of Dallas Bowl

Vs the Utah Utes

1:30 on Tuesday December 26

As someone who has a blackout out week (can’t take off) because of the industry I am in, I can’t tell you my anger about this timeframe. It’s times like this where I wish this stupid fucking bowls would realize some people Have to work on these weekdays and putting it during lunchtime on a workday is beyond retarded.

Hey this is what happens when your HC lets your QB who is not a runner run a bootleg on the goal line. Smart coaches play in decent bowls, dumb coaches.... they play at lunchtime on Tuesday’s.:noidea:

That's going to be (it should be at least) a quality game. Utah can't compete with the big boys but this is a fairly even matchup....

There is a lot of history at the old Cotton Bowl, I like the match up, the time not so much.

Any scuttlebutt on Grier playing in the bowl game?

I google that everyday for any headlines, and all I get is surgery on November 20 and 4 to 6 weeks.

If Grier does not play, I am picking Utah. Maybe. Nevermind, I selected West Virginia, Utah cannot play with good teams.

No word on Grier...my guess Dana will say something next Tuesday at his presser with an update

Wouldn’t bet on it. IIRC they said he would not even be able to begin throwing till a week before one of the other bowl games that we were projected to play in (can’t remember which one at the moment) but then we got selected to this bowl and it was even earlier so... I don’t think he/we risk it.

He hasn’t announced if he is coming back or not yet either so if not... again, wouldn’t risk it and would let the finger heal and then show his skills in a pro day setting then leave so..

I’m gonna say very high probability that he WON’T be playing in our bowl game.

JMO, but I see no reason why Grier would play in this stupid bowl game. Unless he was going to be 100% cleared of any/all complications related to the surgery and healing process... it would not seem like a reasonable choice for all involved.

Unless Will can be assured of being drafted within the first two rounds, I believe he will come back for one more year. He is not projected to be one of the top QB's drafted today. We are talking about a huge difference in guaranteed salary if he falls lower in the draft.

IF he can play, he will play...kids a competitor he would do what leaders do..make sure the Seniors go out on a winning note!

Definitely disagree... he will play only if he is totally healthy...

Agree, I'm still not sold that he even comes back TBH and I couldn't blame him for leaving IF he does. He will have graduated and has a family now so... If he has any shot at all (and he definitely does) then he may go ahead and go for it considering he has already lost 1 year from the transfer and now being reminded just how quickly it can all end with this injury to his throwing finger (insert my rant on Dana/Spav running him like you would Pat White being the dumbest thing ever here :gaah:).

IMHO had he not gotten hurt then he was for sure gone assuming he finished the year like he played the rest of the season. The injury throws a little bit of a monkey wrench in all that though so, it may wind up being a blessing in disguise for WVU if that ends up being the reason he comes back.

Is this the kind of leadership you’re thinking of...

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – (December 14, 2017) – West Virginia Football Coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that senior running back Justin Crawford has decided not to participate in the 2017 Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl and will focus on his preparation for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Crawford will likely go undrafted. I am unsure what he’s preparing himself for...
