Man, I'm really on the fence on this thing. I think Taggart wants that job. I think FSU is at least quite interested. There has been enough buzz around this and no real negative feedback from the powers that be around that program.

Yet here we are with no decision yet. Granted, it's just been two days since Jimbo jumped ship, but you know damned well FSU has been vetting out candidates well before as it wasn't a shock they would have that opening.

The leverage of the new deal on the table for him at Oregon along with the reputation of his agent and how much FSU really doesn't like him could end up killing this deal.

65% chance he gets it at this point? :noidea:

Glendale is a cool stadium location. TONS of stuff to do in the immediate area...

There hasn't even been a post from OD telling everyone to calm down, Taggart isn't going anywhere.

Fiesta opened at -4.5 for Penn State and has moved to -3
Cotton opened at, and is still currently -6.5 for Ohio State.

Both Pac teams are underdogs as expected.

Really wouldn't be surprised to see that the Pac 12 teams are underdogs in all of the bowl games.

I’ve read that part of the issue with the Fisher and FSUs situation becoming so toxic is his feeling that the school had fallen behind the past decade in facilities and his words were falling on deaf ears. Reports are that Taggarts salary would be something like 5 million a year, which would be a serious raise from what he’s getting now at UofO. But part of the new negotiations of any candidates will include promises that facilities upgrades will be implemented. Phil will most likely have to throw in a massive raise to Taggart to try to keep him. And the question needs to be said. Is the guy worth 5 mil a year to Oregon.

There was also the point that Uncle Phil is going to be pissed and FSU is a Nike branded school for apperal. Things could get hinky on that front.

It’s becoming clear that he’s their #1 candidate right now. This will be settled either way this week.
the extension Oregon offered is for 4.something plus im sure there are incentives on top like bowl money, division and conference championship money.
Nike also upped the contract to oregon which is to say for all sports and stuff not just football.

Look, if's he has really told players and staff that FSU was always his dream job would anyone really blame him for leaving for it if he had a chance?

It's way too early to even know what Oregon might be losing. I mean they aren't quite the dumpster fire they were last year, but it's not exactly like anyone has seen some crazy improvements above the talent level of the team in just one short year either.

This is what it's like when you go for 'hot' coaches when you aren't a blue blood. You have a much greater risk that they jump for the next better offer.

Oregon needs to find a HC that really wants to be there

Oregon had a super nice recruiting class set up and now that's going to be going to Tallahassee with Taggart.

Bruce Feldman just tweeted that reports of Taggart and FSU are inaccurate and no meeting has taken place
