I've gone 0-60mph in a regular Tesla and it pinned my head to the seat. It is impressive.

I can't imagine doing it in 1.9 seconds.

Stick a small V8 in that thing and I promise I'll buy one.

Batteries in Tesla cars last 4-5 years. Then it's $20,000 (today) for a replacement. Nice.

Guess it depends on how the rest of it holds up.

Can't wait to see one when they reboot the Back to the Future series in 10 years.

Actually, my post was not accurate. One Tesla owner stated, "Nobody really knows. There haven't been enough batteries replaced due to usage yet, to determine a trend."

Battery is covered under Battery Limited Warranty for a period of 8 years or for the number of miles/km specified below for your Battery configuration, whichever comes first:

• 60 kWh - 125,000 miles (200,000 km)
• 85 kWh - unlimited miles/km

It seems that high mileage drivers with 60 kWh battery @20,000 mi/yr could need a replacement in five - six years.
