Might as well take it easy. With the short career span for RBs these days, no need to push Arian at all during minicamp.

Training camp opens 7/21 for the rookies and the vets report on the 25th.

Open practices for fans start on the 26th and runs for maybe 6 days this year.

I caught a couple of series of the game against MN the other day. Got to see Case Keenum put together a couple of nice drives. Looks to me as if he is well suited to running Kubiak's offense. That didn't surprise me much, since I've seen a lot of both Case and that offense and I figured that he'd be a good fit.

What do Texans fans think about Case -- as much as you might think about your team's 3rd string QB, that is?

Posted this to the wrong thread...

Just thought I would get an "insider" opinion on Foster... Based on what you, or anyone here knows, what timetable would you give him? Is the media blowing his status out of proportion, or what? It's easy to read anything these days that will over exaggerate every detail. For example, just this week Le'Veon Bell was "injured" and the media made it sound like he would be out an extended period of time but he was at practice in full pads the very next day.

Thanks in advance!

PS. I read all the SportsHoopla over Kubiak's comments and it created quite the media stir.

Texans choose Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson

Nice conservative pick. Addressing a solid issue the Texans have had for quite some time. Jonathan joseph is on a contract year and this kid could be a future stud. Physically he needs to built his body, but other than that great find. How good will that defense be next season?

Quarterback Stephen Morris got waived by the Seahawks over the weekend, but he didn’t have to wait long to land another job.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Texans have claimed Morris and added him to their 90-man roster.

Morris spent just under a month with the Seahawks and has spent time with five other teams since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He did not get into a regular season game with any of those teams.

With Morris in the fold, the Texans now have four quarterbacks on their roster. Brandon Weeden and Joe Webb both signed with the team as free agents this offseason and will be in the mix for the No. 2 job behind Deshaun Watson.

He'll be nothing more than a camp body.

There are plenty of boxes to check before the first week of the regular season, but Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson filled in a big one on Tuesday.

Watson was on the field and running the Houston offense during 7-on-7 drills during their first OTA practice of the offseason. It was also Watson’s first practice since tearing his ACL last November and he said all felt well after the session came to an end.

“My knee feels [good and] comfortable,” Watson said, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. “[It was great] to be able to go out there and throw and do some things out there and get the timing down with the receivers. … Just to actually get back out here with the group, with the team, with the whole offense and being able to just get back to the basics of football and build that chemistry and just build that leadership and that trust within each other.”

Texans coach Bill O’Brien said that Watson is “getting better every day” and has improved his football knowledge during his wait to get back on the field. If that should lead to better results than he put up while healthy as a rookie, O’Brien should be overseeing a pretty potent offense in Houston this season.
