totally unprepared and uninspired.
I disagree, I actually think players got scared. I read every report this week and every reporter said this team had their best practice week in a long time. They looked like a championship team. Oline choked and Wimbush played scared. That simple. Sometimes its actually on the players.

I wouldn't say they were unprepared. If we had a better/more accurate QB, this is a much different game. Should have had a TD on the first drive. The Miami turnovers shouldn't have happened. It came down to inaccurate throws by Wimbush.

They likely go 9-3 now. Guessing they beat Navy and lose to Stanford

Exactly what I was afraid of happened. The moment and atmosphere was too big for these players.

Disappointing. Hopefully they're able to end the season on a high note now and at least make a new year six bowl

McFlinchy is slow, sweaty, soft, and perhaps the most overrated player in the country. ND has no QB. And Kelly is a perennial 8-5 coach. No offense tonight, no defense tonight. I was starting to think Kelly had got his shit together and maybe this year was the year we would not have an embarrassing game. Nope. Back to thinking Kelly is what I thought he was. Kelly is an 8-5 coach with 10-3 talent. After winning 8 games Kelly will be back for another year of this tired old bullshit. It is hard to be a Notre Dame fan.

Saw a report that Miami knew what ND was doing and called it out over the radios before the snap happened....ugly...ugly loss.

Thoughts from at the game.

One sideline knew what the stakes were. No need to guess.

Even though they had the ACC coastal wrapped up they played like this game mattered.

There was no emotion and by and large no real adjustments.

Brandon Wimbush is a freak of nature that makes dreadful decisions.

I wholeheartedly believe if we scored on that first possession (thanks to another dropped ball) the outcome might have been different. The first two first downs quieted the crowd noticeably. Then it forced a punt.

Despite all the horror stories of the old Orange Bowl, the fans were by and large respectful. The worst behaved ones were actually two ND fans sitting right behind me. They almost got tossed and should have in my opinion. Sure there were a lot of douchey people there too, you could tell they were the bandwagon types but a few students I spoke to in line for drinks were good kids.

I met Khalid Kareem's dad too. I wished him and his son well and hoped he does well and that his leg feels better. I could tell he was heartbroken for his son.

Fuck. No playoffs now

Playoffs, Playoffs you want to talk about Playoffs?

I couldn't help myself one of the best rants ever. I would settle for some damn effort, they were by no means ready to play that game mentally you could tell from the start who was fired up and who wasn't.

Having 2 road games in our final 3 games against good teams was going to bite us in the ass. No way would we ever come out of those 2 games at 11-1.

that comes under the heading 'unprepared' imo. doesn't matter how good they looked in practice. if they fell apart ... they were unprepared. and certainly uninspired.

kelly has always been what i think he is. a poor field coach. when you hang around as much as he does and recruit decently, which i think he does, you are bound to have some on-field success. the thing is ... it isn't his success. it's the law of averages his teams will win some games. kelly hasn't changed. he's a lousy coach and that won't change (something i've said for 6 or 7 years now). he doesn't know how to inspire a team. he doesn't know how to talk to them and he's an excuse-maker.

This was a plain old beatdown from a team that was prepared & on a mission in their house. I've compared this to the 2014 USC drubbing where Kelly just quit in the 3rd quarter, hence the team mailing it in.

Another ill-prepared Kelly & his team for the big stage. I'm sure there's some piss stains along Kelly's pant legs.

Looking at the resignation & listening to his words at half time, I figured we'd see a repeat in the 2nd half. Yup.

Wimbush seems like a Wimbust at this point. Yeah, he's young & learning, but when you see the fundamental mistakes this guy makes at Week 11 in the season, it's inexcusable. The guy is just not a passer (can't even complete a simple 5 yd toss pass to the flat), doesn't seem to have the mental capacity, stares down receivers, horrid/erratic accuracy, panics (happy feet) and doesn't know when to tuck it & run with resolve.

This was a total reality check with this whole team, last nite. ND wasn't ready for the Big Game ... again.

Sorry for @jjc2009 getting disappointed, yet again, while being able to see a game, in person, and witnessing a hot mess. Mebbe you should stop going to the games, ya jinx. :D

Can't blame Kelly for everything.

He wasn't the inaccurate QB out there missing easy first downs which led to 2 turnovers.

He wasn't the inaccurate QB missing a wide open TD.

He wasn't the WR refusing to layout for a ball that should have been a TD.

Point is this blaming Kelly BS is getting annoying. The team was ready. Wimbush is just a shit QB. ND should have scored 7 in the first drive. Also those 2 Miami turnovers shouldn't have happened because both times he had his WR for a easy throw and his inaccuracy led to 2 interceptions.

wimbush is shit? ... well, who recruited him? who plays him? who thinks he's the best they have on the team?
maybe it does get annoying, but with as many people who agree he's a lousy field coach isn't it possible YOU are wrong? haven't you seen enough of his play calling to consider he's not very good?

and how can you say a team was ready and watch them lose by 43 points? what does ready mean to you? you think wimbush (and one missed catch) was solely responsible? shirley, you jest.
