Alabama's schedule is weaker than normal this year. Fact.

However, Alabama has momentum and has proven itself to be a high quality team at a consistent level and has handled the competition thus far in a way that demonstrates that hasn't really changed.

More importantly, Alabama will be well tested before the playoffs. We play #16 Miss St tomorrow, then we play #10 Auburn and #1 Georgia if we win those games.

So by the time playoffs come, it'll be clear on if Alabama deserves to be there or not.

Let's give Wisconsin the same chance to "prove" itself.

If Wisconsin defeats Iowa and Michigan - two P5 teams with winning records, that'll bolster their case with the CFP committee.

Yep. Wisconsin doesn't have a "terrible" schedule, just backloaded

Then you'll be fine I guess. I figure if Wisconsin wins out they are in.

They should be in but that doesn't mean they will. I could see them taking 1 loss Oklahoma, undefeated SEC team, Notre Dame and a one loss BIG 12 team and or 1 loss ACC team over the Badgers with the way the committee has been voting. I am almost certain now that's what will happen unless some major upsets occur.

Against who?
Iowa, Michigan and whoever they play in the B1G championship.

Not a great schedule but not as pathetic as it's made out to be. Michigan is criminally underrated, really. They're 6-2 with close losses to top 15 teams and should definitely be ranked.

Lots of BS. about Wisconsin’s schedule and Alabama’s schedule

If Wisconsin goes undefeated they will be in the playoffs and they will deserve it.

College Football teams usually schedule out of conference schedule in this manner. One teams that you can count on to be good, one team that may be good and one team you can pad your record against. You can’t hold a team’s conference record against them. Alabama meets this requirement ... everybody thought Florida State was going to be great this year, they were the #2 team in the nation going in ... you can fault Alabama for Florida State’s demise. Wisconsin has fallen short in this respect; however, if they win out over a very good Iowa team, Michigan and ohio state or Michigan State, they will earn a spot in the playoffs. Much ado about nothing.

How dare you question the SEC I mean college football committee. Yes it is borderline asinine that Michigan isn't in the top 25 and playing with a third string QB and very easily could've won the MSau game in better condition.

Wisconsin winning out doesn't lock them into the top four.

Yes it does.

It doesn't based on how the committee ranks teams. Badgers wouldn't jump an undefeated or one loss Bama or Georgia, They wouldn't jump one loss Notre Dame, and they wouldn't jump a one loss BIG 12 or ACC winner either. If the Badgers win out they would still need some major upsets to get in. Oklahoma and TCU would have to lose one game, Georgia would have to lose before they play Bama. Then that might be enough.

Sure they deserve to be in but based off the rankings of the committee, going undefeated doesn't gurantee them a spot in the cfp.

I’ll be honest, I do not think you will get past Iowa, Michigan and the Conference Championship Game (and don’t take Minnesota for granted either), but if you do, you will have earned a spot.

Note: I am a Michigan homer, so I am a little biased in my thinking that they are a good team.

I wonder if somebody just started watching CFB this year. If it's not obvious that Clemson and Alabama are the current standard for CFB, then please move along to the Women's Basketball Board or something you know the same info about. TIA, you fucking moron.

I agree they deserve to make it in the cfp but the committee disagrees with is and their bias opinions matter. Badgers very well could lose one of the next few games despite being big favorites. Eventually the running game and defense will not be able to overcome 2 turnovers a game by Hornibrook just like they couldn't his three ints last season vs Michigan (although that Michigan team was better than this Mich team and last year's Badger team wasn't as good as this Badger team

Michigan is still a good team but lost a ton of talent from last year and playing a third string QB but should be ranked but again the committee is pro SEC.

Notre Dame will crush all their final opponents.

I never said the SEC had anything to do with the Badgers schedule. What's happening is the committee is making appear as though Clemson and Bama have vastly superior schedules by manipulating the rankings. Clemson's division is down as well. FSU just happened to be terrible this year which should hurt Bama but didn't appear to do so.

They are getting the benefit of the doubt because of who they are for sure but also because how they have beaten teams the whole eye test deal. I don't know if Notre Dame will crush all their opponents it is college football after all but they should win the games.
If FSU hadn’t lost their starting QB — I’d say absolutely not. The fact they played a full strength FSU, it is a judgement call.

It is quite obvious FSU didn’t have any depth behind Francois (sp). Injuries happen in CFB, but no position effects a team more than the QB position.

That is all on the coaching you have to have a competent back up QB which goes for both FSU and Michigan for that matter. FSU has more issues this year than just losing their starting QB.
