Always thought Sebastian looked like what Puddles would look like after a weekend in Miami.
I think the Cane fan base on the Hoop is small because most prisons limit Internet access.Sure it isn't da U of the early 2000s, but it is one of the 3 premier programs in Florida and they have a huge history of success and NFL talent.
The lack of ACC fans in general on here is.. interesting.
I wouldn't mind 3 or 4 of them telling us why the playoff committee should have the Hurricanes ranked higher.
I think part of it has to do with being a private small school without it's own college stadium. Their total enrollment is only around 16,000 students.Sure it isn't da U of the early 2000s, but it is one of the 3 premier programs in Florida and they have a huge history of success and NFL talent.

Caneman disappeared and never came back.
I wasn't even pickin' on Meeahmee...just spelling it out. It's just a little private school that was able to tap into the city ghetto in the 80s and build a legacy. The stands are always half empty for games.

USC's enrollment is almost 3x larger at 44,000 and they have an on-campus stadium. That's a fair point, but with FSU and UF in the northern part of the state, you'd think they'd be able to get a following similar to USC. A lot of bandwagon fans en such.
The stadium situation seems like a real fuck up. Should have had it on campus.
From what I can find, nodoes Miami seriously not have like a few acres to build a 25,000 seat stadium on campus? They draw about that amount at the Hard Rock/Orange Bowl/Sun Life Stadium/Dolphin Stadium.com thing they are at now. At least increase the game day atmosphere by having an on field stadium no matter how small it is.
In a city where construction plagues just about every street and highway in sight, I cannot envision any way that the city would willingly agree to put down the funding for such a project. With all the backlash that came about from building the Marlins’ new stadium, which was erected right where the Orange Bowl used to be, most taxpayers won’t exactly be lining up to give up more of their own cash.
There’s no space in Coral Gables to build it, and even so, zoning laws here are incredibly strict and would be very complicated.
meh.. Canyon Berry says helloMan fuck low intelligence hoop ball
^^ THIS.
There will never be a major football stadium built in or near Coral Gables. That is some of the highest value real estate in Dade County, and the building restrictions and restrictive covenants in Coral Gables are draconian. The city was meticulously planned in the early 1900's and they didn't have major college football in mind when building it. Indeed, the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the campus are all residential, with home values probably averaging $900,000. You'd have to condemn several blocks of those to build a stadium with adequate parking, even if you could convince the city to build it (you won't). And the remaining homeowners wouldn't want the rabble roaming around the neighborhood on game days.
The old Orange Bowl, while still a ways from campus, was much closer. It was in a shitty neighborhood and nobody cared about the traffic or chaos on game days. Most of the people lived there rented out their driveways for parking so what did they care.
The county owns Tropical Park. Plenty of space to build a stadium.
