Good game yesterday......they need to keep Dino Babers.....he's been excellent and there is no guarantee they could replace him with a capable replacement. Although, the program would be in a good position to land a quality candidate.

The 'Cuse has made me some SportsHoopla cash the last few weeks.

It was a good game. I really like the attitude the Orange have these days. As far as Babers goes, the alumn are chattering up a storm about the man's worth. I think SU is going to open up their pocketbook to keep this guy.

They need to. He might be open to staying since a lot of big fishes in small ponds go to big programs and fail within 2-3 years. No names shall be mentioned. He strikes me as a guy who may want to stay long term and really turn them into something special.

Are you the only Orange football fan on here? Just curious.

That win over Clemson was huge and he should be able to get a recruiting class off that this offseason.

Babers hasn't stayed anywhere very long, but he likes the dome for his style of play ... and most Cuse fans like the dome as well. I hate the parking but once in the dome, there isn't a bad seat in the place. Babers may stick around a while ... I'm sure the money will have to be right and he's said before that the Dome fits his style of coaching.

There are a couple of Orange fans on thoop ....I do a lot of talking to myself though.

He's already started to make strides in recruiting. SU's numbers got better with the 2018 class and they have a very good QB waiting his turn that fit's Babers style .... Tommy Devito ...he redshirted this year. Things are looking up with Babers.

Welcome to the club.....there's 1 Idaho fan on here, think his name is Cave Johnson? And there are more but myself and @Vitamike are the loudest UCLA football fans on here. It's a lonely club to be in.

Babers started at smaller schools....Eastern Illinois and Bowling Green as a HC. Maybe Syracuse is as big a program as he wants? Not every coach wants to be at Texas, Notre Dame, OU, etc.....I think he stays.

I loved Syracuse when McNabb was there....after he left, they seem to have fallen off the map a little......or maybe I just didn't follow them as closely......Babers is a good coach and I like him. Think he can really bring them back if he stays. They should pay the man.

I'm sure Syracuse intends to do whatever they can to keep Babers, but the lure of a bigger job is hard to beat. Here's hoping he stays. I'm happy to enjoy what's left of Dungey's college career, as I'm not sure how this team adjusts to losing him. He may be reckless, but he truly IS this team's offense.

Very much so. I guess his injury is substantial enough that Dungey won't be involved in much practice this week.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football quarterback Eric Dungey is expected to play against Wake Forest on Saturday, head coach Dino Babers said during his Monday press conference.

The junior signal-caller missed about a quarter of the Orange's 27-24 loss to Florida State two days ago with an apparent right foot/ankle injury.

"He's going to have to take it easy," Babers said when asked about handling Dungey's unspecified injury. "He's not going to be able to do all the work. He's got a lot of game experience. We'll just practice the other guys. He'll be ready to go."

Dungey completed 24-of-43 passes for 278 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Seminoles, also rushing for a career-high 109 yards and another score. He left the game shortly after getting hurt on SU's fifth play from scrimmage, made two trips to the locker room and ultimately returned with heavy tape on his right foot.

Dungey received additional medical treatment on Sunday, and Babers said the staff is still waiting on a final diagnosis.

Before Babers mentioned Dungey's status, he reiterated that he would make his quarterback decision based on who gives SU the best chance to win -- even if that means playing true freshman Tommy DeVito.
