5,000 Posts for a Flyers Cup in 2018!

I know it's early too, but it looks like the Caps, Rangers and Islanders all could've taken a step back, which puts us right in the top three of the division after the Devils fall back down to earth.

What's happening is we're building from within the organization, which helps us keep players and stay under the cap. These other teams are having to unload players to stay under the cap and are getting worse because of it. The Capitals are exhibit A of this.

The Rangers go down again tonight 4-1. They are four points behind us, but have also played two more games.

It's a beautiful thing.

Believe it or not, we are ranked 8th in goals scored, 2nd in goals against, 8th on the power play and 18th on the penalty kill. Those are pretty impressive numbers to date and I think our 5-3 record is misleading. We've played better than it shows.

Now, it's time to finish this homestand off strong tonight. The Ducks are getting Getzlaf and Lindholm back. This will be a challenge.

Definitely agree they're playing better than the 5-3 record. Big game from quick and the crazy Nashville game, it's not a very big leap to see them at 5-2-1 or even 6-2 to this point.

I'd like to see Voracek snap the twine, so I'll pick him for the first goal.

And it sounds harsh, but we are probably better off with the injury to Mac, if only because Hagg gets to grow and play top minutes with Provorov. The question remains how long we'll have to wait to see Morin at the Nhl level.

Provovov and AMac were playing great on the PK this year as well as 5 on 5. Its a shame we waited all this time for him to play well and now he does and he gets hurt.

Is AMac REALLY playing better or has Provorov's game continued to grow, thus helping to cover for AMac even further? I admit I may be jaded by my extreme dislike for AMac, but I certainly haven't seen anything spectacular out of him and it's still clear he's a step slow at times.

I've got Ghost for the 1st talley in this tilt.

If you've watched any of the games this season you have to admit AMac is playing his best hockey since he came here by far. He has had a great frist 8 games without help from Prov all while helping Prov improve his game.

I guess since Glass jaw Gudas got handled the Ducks figured why not just impose our size on them.

Is anyone here still thinking Elliot was a good choice. Has he held any team to under 4 goals yet?

I was one person who said,he was one of the best options from what was available.
6 goals on 25 shots sucks.
Neuvy has been lights out,but let's hope it lasts,and he stays healthy.

If Elliott can't get it together,then give one of the young guys a shot,before we fall too far back in the standings.

Agree 100%. I mean if that's all he gonna bring to the table then we might as well stick a youngster in there and get the experience, The cheap option is turning out to be just that so far.

.Every GM in the league,has known about our goalie issues for years on end,and has stuck it up the Flyers ass.
They either demand too much,or hang up the phone.

Hexy is trying his best to solve this mess,but it's going to take time.

For the record, I hate the fucking Ducks. It just seems like they commit a penalty on every single fucking shift and are obviously flagged for only a fraction of them. Then, when we have our power play opportunities, we routinely let them off the hook by not cashing in. 0 for 6 on the power play when we had a 5 on 3 is unacceptable. Should've been 2-3 power play goals and then this would've actually been a game.

That said, they were the hungrier team, clearly. Gibson was good, but we didn't do near enough to test him or keep him from seeing the puck. Either way, to score the first goal and then lose 2-6 is pretty demoralizing. Yes, Elliott should've probably had a couple of those, but we tried to lean on him a bit too much in this one. I do not regret signing him at this point. He was one of the best options available.

The injury to Patrick is a serious blow to our depth. I am sure they will be very cautious with him, but I also hope it's not as bad as it looked. Definitely make sure he's 100% before returning. We don't need another Lindros or Primeau here with regard to concussions.

For what it's worth, we are done playing quite possibly the two teams (Anaheim and Nashville) that will meet in the western conference finals next year. I just think those are two of the three or four best teams out west easily. Their records don't show it yet, but they will only get better and they are built for the playoffs too.

While Vegas is somehow now 7-1, I still think they will fall apart during this upcoming, lengthy road trip. Basically, Fleury stood on his head for their first two games and then they have taken advantage of home ice. The visiting teams are probably partying and then not focused for the game. No way they keep this up with a third string goalie whom I have never even heard of. Hell, PEB even scored one of their goals last night. This is a dude who has now 18 goals to his Nhl career and never more than 7 in a season...Lol Luck is clearly in their favor at the moment.
