By the way can we all take a moment to appreciate just how awful Stephon Gilmore has been for the Patriots??

It is a blessing not screaming at the TV every Sunday. Man, I hated him. He sucks. Always said it. He makes a couple of nice plays a year, but mostly holds, grabs, gets beat, or gives up.

I find it very difficult to dislike you Spikes. haha

You sport one of my all-time favorite Bengals in your screen name, and you are a Reds fan. Now, we just have to work on that football team you follow. :-P

I don't know about that sir, I believe he made an excellent choice for a NFL team, in fact most of us have...except you

You are on this board though and it's not too late, you can still be converted to the dark side before Sunday's game :thumb:

We have beer... :suds:

Not sure why we don't involve Holmes more. What an ugly game. Tyrod, you gotta throw the ball man! Standing in the pocket that long? Unacceptable.

Not enough run calls in the red zone either.

Just a bad game. Our safeties and White are great players. We missed Humber today. Preston Brown still stinks. Defense still played well though. Our offense can't get going after losing Clay... on top of no Matthews. Taylor gotta play better.

I think I checked all 3 boxes of misery going to today's game

  • I was very hungover
  • It was in a downpour
  • and we lost

I'm not sure where to start

I guess the simple way to summarize our offense is we had Shady out there, and the other 10 players we put out on the field were completely outmanned on basically every play

losing Charles Clay was bad because the rest of our receiving options were awful

Zay Jones is still making tons of rookie errors, Brandon Tate vanishes most of the time but does things on occasion and the rest of the receivers we had out there were basically useless

O'Leary was ok but not as good as Clay, Logan Thomas was a complete liability out there

Tyrod was not good either, held on to the ball way too long all game, missed on some throws and just overall didn't see the field that well

Oh and the offensive line sucked

We signed Brown back to the team again

so most likely not, give it a few more receiver injuries

Brown is meh, no real upside there, but at least he's a vet that should run his routes correctly.

Interesting to see they signed Shamarko Thomas in addition to bringing back Elston at safety. Shamarko was a favorite of mine while at Syracuse. Undersized but talented safety IMO.

It always looks so uncomfortable to see him standing in the pocket that long. It's not his nature, so I have to wonder if that was a point of focus from the coaching staff this week, or if the defense just corralled him in there.

LOL. Of the players the Bills "lost" to the Patriots, he was the one I was worried the least about. Glad to see he hasn't changed and is torpedoing their defense by not communicating and losing receivers.

Corralled or not, his pocket clock has to be beeping. Get rid of the ball.

But, what nobody will defend him over (in the media I mean), is the routes by our wonderfully deep receiving crew. WR1 is a rookie. WR2 is a kick returner. No Clay, TE2 banged up. And most importantly, an inept right side of the line. I doubt he is failing to see wide open targets.

I would like to see Dawkins move to guard, when Glenn gets healthy (should be good to go after bye), and get rid of one of Miller/Mills.

Absolutely he can't sit back there and take sacks, especially with what we have...if we fall to 2nd and long...that's it the drive is over for us because Shady is the only capable playmaker we have

Zay Jones is only a rookie and is not a number 1 receiver, yet we're forced to act like he is one right now

the rest of our receivers are useless, they never get open

There were rare occasions when someone actually got open so he missed a few, but everyone around him sucks right now

Dawkins is not a NFL left tackle that's for sure, we need Glenn back to like you said get rid of one of the swinging gates on the right side of the line.

The offense is so bad right now, most of the many draft picks we got will need to be used on upgrades

Dawkins would hopefully shift to RT, where he was drafted to play until Glenn's injuries changed everything. Did Miller even play last week? I remember seeing Ducasse most of the time (and not for good reasons). The offense is really struggling, and I question the game-planning. We have a physical line zone-blocking (a big reason why Miller has fallen off). Using fullbacks in front of McCoy slows him down from getting to the hole (or cutting back, as he often prefers).

As strong as the defense has played under the new staff, I'm not seeing a lot of success for this OC. Kubiak called most of the plays for the Broncos with Dennison as his OC, and maybe we're seeing why. With a defensive guy as head coach, I think the Bills may soon be looking for a more modern OC who can more reliably call his own plays.

I agree, but I don't think Bill Walsh could have an effective game plan with Zay Jones and Brandon Tate leading the charge. Matthews makes us respectable, but that in itself is depressing.

Now that I think of it that bum Ducasse actually started on Sunday, I think Miller was inactive

I know we should really see if he wants to play, he visited a few teams including us but never signed

Maclin hasn't played well so far, but if we had even signed him we would be in such a better spot right now

Good win today, didn't think we could take this one as Tampa needed to win this game in a bad way

yet we managed to hold them off

Our defense seems to be overwhelmed by top receivers, Evans dominated us and overall we just simply couldn't handle all the weapons that they had, this will be a problem against other good offenses going forward

biggest adjustment I noticed on the offensive line is we had Groy in a lot and it really helped, especially in the run game

and Deonte Thompson, I barely even noticed this pickup because I didn't think it was at all relevant..turns out he was a revelation for this offense. I don't think he will do that well again because we sort of caught them by surprise with him, but it will at least open up opportunities for the rest of our receivers now with another capable guy out there
