Sty...if you continue to change my words to meet your narrative, this is done.

Puerto Ricans can vote in federal elections. They can't vote in elections with no standing. As a resident of PR, a person can't vote in the selection of POTUS because PR has no electoral votes because they are not a state or D.C. Guess what. If I move to PR and become a resident, I no longer can vote in the election of the POTUS. PR can vote in primaries though...so yes, they do get to vote in federal elections.

So where would they move? Every state in the union gets more back than they put in. I am all for cutting federal spending...so let's do it.

Churches are churches are not for profit organizations, much like the NAACP. Neither pays taxes. Explain your last statement because churches cannot vote.

Yep you mentioned D.C. but only in terms of what PR was not. What I was responding to was your assertion that they should move or attach themselves to a state. Utter nonsense!! These are American citizens and as noted in this thread are GUARANTEED by the 14th amendment the right to vote. Even if you somehow don't buy that, they (which was MY point and I DID bring in D.C. for that purpose) are in effect just like D.C. territorially. Go back and read it....I specifically said that D.C. is not a state just like PR.

Every state gets more than they pay in huh? is this another of your notions or do you have facts like this.....

Feel free to question me on this. It makes me think and question what I know. That is enlightenment.

What makes you believe he is OK with one group treating another group poorly? I don't believe he is OK with it. Just because he doesn't intervene, doesn't mean he is OK with it. The first thing he gave us is free will. If he intervenes, do we actually have free will? If he takes away the consequence of our actions, do we actually have free will?

I do believe he intervenes at times and I am not sure why or how.

You were right...I guess I didn't know where you were going.

If he doesnt intervene, then he is playing favorites.. for a few thousand years now apparently. If he does intervene and we still have the world we have....

Lets just say of I had the power to intervene, and knew that one of my children was going to treat another of my children the way man treats those he deems less worthy.. they would lock me away along with my fucked up child and rightfully so.

Thats a hilarious statement considering that its 2017 and for all this equality you have been show court documents where non whites have been treated as second class in

1. The Job Market
2. The court system
3. The the financial and credit system

Aside from those three little things, we are all equal though. And if the Democrats gave me preferential treatment... for fuck sake PLEASE treat me like the persecuted white guy.. just for a little bit.

Equality under the law.

Show me the law that says blacks can't work or have to work at a lower salary.

Show me the law that states blacks will get arrested for this crime but not whites and the punishment for blacks is X and the punishment for Whites is Y.

Show me the law that gives different rates for blacks.

Equality under the law isn't the same as equality which isn't and shouldn't be guaranteed by government.

No...not favorites. Stop looking at it from a human perspective. He gave us dominion over the Earth. The world is our fault.

Go watch "The Cabin." Fantastic movie.

See this is where i bring your belief in god into it.

Show me definitive proof god exists??

Now for the record I believe god either did or does exist, and if he does still exist he is like a fat kid with a magnifying glass over an ant farm. He is watching us burn and laughing his ass off.

I agree there is no LAW that says non whites still get treated as second class citizens in this country. Its a practice, and the sad part is we have LAWS that do make this practice illegal. But laws cant stop people from doing shit that is dangerous to self, so what makes you think a LAW will stop a fucked up practice if said law is rarely enforced to begin with?

Nope. They didn't change the Republican Party. They switched to the Republican Party. Huge difference. As usual, it is the liberals that are playing the race game.

You even stated in post 2895 that blacks switched when offered crumbs...not equality. The Republicans gave blacks equality under the law. The democrats upped the ante offered beyond equal rights under the law. Just keep believing the democrats are the way for the black community. All you will get is Chicago, New Orleans, and Detroit.

They did switch huh? Well, well, well....nobody said that they "changed" the party, they went with the party that held true to their racist ideals. True then, true today. BTW: Try better bait with that "liberal" BS.

I did EXACTLY that in post 2895, did it ever occur to you that crumbs are better than nothing? You're going to have to post something other than another one of your notions that shows where Republicans or Democrats have EVER offered AND made true full "Equality under law."

Tell you what, you do that and I'll concede that racism is not a system....deal? ( that "AND" between offered/made is key for me)

You stated it. It was just bullshit.

There was evidence posted beyond my statements on the subject then, something that you seem short of. So if I'm understanding you, evidence is BS when it refutes your statements.....OK, got it!!

I mentioned D.C. because I knew you don't have to have statehood to have delegates. That is why I separated the states and D.C. DC has delegates thanks to the 23rd Amendment. Statehood is the best way for PR to gain delegates. Please stop pretending to come up with gotchas because you are failing.

I actually misread the article. I saw that exact one. Shit.

Challenging BS is not coming up with "gotchas" it's merely an attempt to get us to a place where facts matter, the truth is not merely a notion and we can begin honest dialogue.

I can never prove to somebody who doesn't want to believe in God that he exists. Just like he can't be disproven.

I see God as a loving Father watching his creation fall from grace, likely weeping in our failures and loving our successes. I see him showing us the way and we are stubborn children refusing to listen.

I am saying you can't enforce a law that can't be proven broken. Equality under the law...not equality.

So IM going to politely excuse God from this one.

As far as Equality under the law, it does not and likely will not exist in this country in our life time. The NOTION of equality under the law has existed since before either of us was born. The failure in this is that the LAW is subject to interpretation by MEN. And MEN are subject to their own biases and prejudices. So while the LAW might say you and I are equal, the MAN who is deciding how that LAW applies can and usually DOES see you and I very differently. Thus even under the LAW, we are not truly equal. The only way to actually achieve equality under the law, is to take lady justice literally, and make justice and the law blind.

Ain't that the truth, in fact often in my post I'll refer to myself as a smartass, or follow other's post with a well placed "Ooops"

Look man, I appreciate what we're doing here, there are far more important issues in the world than football. Thanks to some of the best Mods anywhere we're able to do this here, rather than being among 10 million ( I know hyperbole) posts on the SportsHoopla political boards.

.....And while I'm at it thanks for being a willing participant, I appreciate you dude!

Alright now........`ding ding,` there's the bell for the one minute rest period....back to more contentious posts:D

For the record, think I need to throw this out there.

With the way @Stymietee @gkekoa @reptec101 and I go at it some times on these off topic threads, one would think we dont like each other. While we disagree, that would be the furthest thing from the truth. I do respect these guys and consider them my friends, if not I likely wouldnt bother trying to figure out how their squiggly melons work sometimes. And honorable mention to @Krusheasy the sniper poster, and @skinsdad62 the voice of fuck ya'll be reasonable. :suds::thumb: Dilly Dilly

Hey @gkekoa, did you happen to see the video that @Krusheasy posted on "privilege?" your thoughts?

I think it was a great explanation of privilege. I understand the entire concept and even agree with vast portions of it. Every single one of those things he mentioned though had nothing to do with race. There are large portions of what gave the head start that white people lead in but the reason they lead is not race based.

2 parent home- 100% choice

Father figure in the home- nothing to do with race

Private education- strictly socioeconomic and parental choice

Free tutor- I am white as they come and have never heard of a free tutor unless you are poor

Cell phone shut off- does that really matter in the race of life? My son has to worry about that because it is 100% behavior related for him. Otherwise it is a socioeconomic issue.

Helping mom or dad with bills- socioeconomic issue

If it wasn't about athletic ability to pay for college- so you got a scholarship for doing well...isn't that earned? Or your parents paid for college...black parents can't pay for college? Athletic scholarship...wouldn't that be black privilege if the others are white privilege?

Never wondered where your next meal comes from- socioeconomic

The guy asking questions then says nothing the individual did was because of them. That isn't entirely true. Those who got academic scholarships sure as hell earned it.

If you ask if I have been privileged in life, I would absolutely say yes. It has nothing to do with race though. My family has no generational wealth. I was the first one to go directly to college. My dad was he first to leave the podunk town he lived. I did well in public school and well in college, which was paid for by my parents. My mom was a stay at home mom and my dad a military man once I turned three. We weren't rich but through their choices they could afford to send me to college. None of this had to do with race but when people say I have benefitted from white privilege, the insinuation is I didn't get here because of my choices or my parent's choices. I got here because of my race.

Now does being black influence the choices you make? That is an interesting question.

Everything I have gotten I had to earn ( with god’s Help). My parents were damn poor . 8 people in a 2 bedroom home. Spam and beans was a food staple. Shoes were hand me downs as was clothes . Peanut butter and jelly sandwich was lunch with water to drink. You guys won about parents saving for college . I paid for every bit of it. All 4 years total. . Bought my own first car, first bike . I have been working since age 9 delivering news papers at 4 am and again at. 3,pm . People had it worse then me. I could have played victim but instead I worked my way up and i currently live a decent middle class life. So I have very little sympathy for an athlete making 19 mil talking to me about how he is oppressed or another one making 15 mil lying about what happened to him n Vegas and not being called out about bit . Yes racism exist in every damn group you want to name because evil thrives in hate . Read rules for radicals by Saul Alynski and then look at today and tell me it isnt happening
