he has a lifetime ERA of 2.36 and the only pitcher with a better ERA+ is a relief pitcher (Mo). He also has three CYAs under his belt. He's pitched 10 seasons, he's pretty much a lock.

I agree but if he were to fall off drastically like King Felix, it would become questionable, especially if his post season woes were to continue.
Kershaw leads the Dodgers to a championship, then he becomes close to a lock.

Kershaw's a much better pitcher than Felix ever was though. They're really not comparable.

But they're not similar cases, because Kershaw's been much better than Felix...Kershaw's career to date has been historically dominant (right now he's got the best ERA+ of any starter in history with 1,000 innings).

He does have 1250 hits under his belt. As long as he stays healthy, he has a decent shot at 2500+. His first few years were meh, but he really broke out in 2014 and got even better as he developed power. His last two seasons are some of the best offensive seasons by a 2B. His 160 wRC+ this year ranks 31st among all-time seasons by 2B, last year's 151 wRC+ ranks 53rd. Most of the seasons ahead of him come from Hornsby/Eddie Collins/Lajoie/Morgan.

I am so impressed by this kid... every year in fantasy, I avoid him saying he is only 5'6 not even 180 pounds... No way he can repeat his power numbers... 2 years in a row with 24 HRs... Just insane... and he isn't even good because of his power numbers...

IMO, he is already on the short list of SHOULD become HOFer...

Lester still needs a few All-Star seasons before he really has a good case IMO, but he's had a very good career.

177-98, 3.50 ERA, 122 ERA+, 2366 IP, 380 starts, 1.25 WHIP, 8.3 K/9, 2.85 K/BB, 3.61 FIP, 44.6 WAR

Very solid postseason resume:

9-7, 2.55 ERA, 148 IP, 25 games (21 starts), 1.03 WHIP, 6.9 H/9, 3.18 K/BB; career 1.77 ERA in 35.2 innings in World Series, pitched for 3 WS winning teams

Pedroia's having an excellent year right now (5+ WAR and hitting .332/.392/.466), but he is 33 years old at a position that isn't known for guys aging well.

HOF or not though, he could go down as the best Sox 2B of all-time.

Mauer's a weird case. He's pretty similar to Ernie Banks in that he was a fantastic player at a premium position and then moved to another position and was a pretty middling player there. Mauer's catcher seasons are fantastic and he's one of the greatest hitting catchers of all-time, but he only played 921 games behind the plate and he only had two seasons where he played 120+ games behind the plate. I think he should be in but I can see the arguments against him.

Hopefully Posey will fare better in that regard.

The similarities between Posey and Mauer are pretty thick. When Posey moves from behind the plate, it will be interesting to see how his bat translates. And with Bart breathing down his back, he won’t stay behind the dish much longer (maybe 1 or 1.5 more years).

We can obviously add Trout to this list

I didn't check if Greinke was mentioned in here. It was in the middle of rough season in Arizona so probably not. But now he's approaching 3000 IP with an ERA+ of 126. Good chance he retires with 250+ wins and 3000+ strikeouts. He hits those and I think he's in.
