Who cares he ran not one but two professional teams into the ground, His College record is the best around:

And as an added bonus Corn hole fans OD would be sporting that famous "N" under his name here on the Hoop!

I expect no knee jerk reactions here.

The football program is where it is. Bottom of the barrel. (1-11) is the expectation.

I look at this from a 30,000 foot view.

Riley came in and inherited an offense and a QB who did not fit his preferred style of offense. He made due with it for 2 years and fired a defensive coordinator because improvement was needed there. Now in year three he implements a new QB that hopefully fits the style of offense he is accustomed to running. Brings in a new D-Coordinator and has to implement a brand new 3-4 scheme. Also in year 3 you replace most of your top skill position players on offense.

I cannot realistically expect all of this to fall into place and run perfectly the first year he has all his pieces in place. I'm on record as saying I'm willing to give Riley one more year to get this thing going, and next year's schedule will be a really good benchmark.

I'm willing to bet the odds that Riley's system and players will be better and closer to where we want it next year with a year under their belt than they would if we cleaned house and started over.

No, I honestly feel if they get the AD that "fits" the coaching hire will be just fine and everything will fall back into place in Lincoln with the football program. Tough defense and a offense that has NFL talent Olimen running the ball down teams throats...

Like the old days...

See that's the shocker to me, that program produced some of the best in the 80's and 90's and I can't for the life of me understand why that well dried up?

He who shall not be named wanted "speed" and west coast pro offense.... he started destroying all the traditions and the next guy wasnt worried about reinstalling them he was more worried about how he looked and trying to be outside the box and still get it done (he didnt)

He needed to be fired before he extended any more contracts.

The last time we fired an AD, Nebraska had lost to Oklahoma St.

LOL. Let that sink in.

Last time you fired an AD we hadn't passed you as a program.

LOL. Let that sink in.

Shouldn't matter. He's never going to get better, just lost to a MAC school and expectations are Zero. He's gone.

Though it would be hilarious if you kept him another year. Literally just a wasted year until he eventually gets fired.

What I am wondering about is how long will Michigan fans be happy with always taking second or 3rd in the east division and never being able to play for the championship. When will it be time for them to look for a new coach that will take them where they want to go? Or will 2cnd or 3rd keep them happy enough to keep Harbaugh

$2.9 million

Whose on your list 'worthy' of $4.5 to $5 million though?

I listed the 5 and they aren't leaving their successful programs.
Everyone else is a gamble IMO.

I'd look at Fuente at Va. Tech. He's an up and coming coach, and started his career in the midwest. He's making 3.2 million I believe, so he's a guy that might be willing to move. Justin Wilcox at Cal might be worth a look as well. Mike MacIntyre would also make sense IMO. I realize outside of Fuente they aren't the biggest of names, but like you said the big name guys, probably aren't leaving.

LOL. Let that sink in.

Nebraska beat Okie Lite in 2010, the one time they've played since 2007. Okie Lite finished (11-2) that season. They lost to their big brother as well.

2008 - 2014 were 9 or 10 win seasons (Pelini).

Okie Lite went (8-5) in 2012, and (7-6) in 2014.

If they "passed Nebraska as a program" it would have been 2015.

Even then Nebraska won 9 games in 2016 and Okie Lite won just 10. One of Okie lite's 3 losses was to none other than a different MAC team in Central Michigan.

LMFAO....Let THAT sink in.
