It's another Monday sadly but, that means that today is a new thread for the upcoming game on Saturday. This is another pretty big game for us. Hopefully our WR's come into play. Defense has also been pretty good in the past weeks.

Also what do you guys think about still not being ranked? I'm confused on how LSU is but not Notre Dame?

I'm not saying we should be ranked. LSU definitely should not be, but I don't think we've made our case, yet.

A win this week should put us back in the top 25. I'm also worried that Dantionio with the extra week to rest and prepare is going to be a nightmare for us. Mich. St. has lost a lot of its talent from the last few years, but they need to regain some respectability by beating us too. In short, given our lack of offensive output, this team scares me. We get by Mich. St. we should be fine until USC, which I can live with being 5-1 going into that game. 4-2 or worse, not so much.

It's too early to worry about not being ranked. The simple fact is that we have a one point loss to the #11 team in the country. If we take care of business until SC we will actually have a shot at the top 10 if we beat them in SB. But there is a long way to go until then. We need a few games for Wimbush to start to feel comfortable with his passing. And to figure out what the hell happened to our receivers.

I keep hearing about our receivers, I have to ask, is it them, or is it Wimbush? I tend to lean more towards the problem being Wimbush and the play calling. If I'm remembering correctly, he overthrew St. Brown on 3 to 4 passes.

Anyways, I'm more excited after getting a 29 point win over BC. But the jury is still out, who the hell are we? Dexter getting 6 carries for 50 yards, better than the previous week, but still not enough.

I didn't actually get to watch the GA game or the BC game (the latter I watched on youtube yesterday). It seemed that Wimbush's throws were all sailing high, so it was difficult to catch. He also was rifling it really fast and didn't seem to have any touch on his throws. That said, there were some easy drops and ESB, who seems to be his favorite target, needs to to a better job of (a) getting some separation) and (b) hanging on to a few of those.

The only person that can catch what he throws with any consistency is Nick Weishar, who isn't in the game enough.

I'd say right now its about 65-35 on Wimbush-the WR corp. Both need to be doing a lot better.

I am baffled by CJ Sanders not seeing the field, and no one else doing anything. It was a red flag to me when the grad transfers were higher on the depth chart than guys with 1-2 years in the system. Stepherson, if he ever gets back in good graces, could be useful, provided he hasn't checked out mentally forever. He might be a better deep threat than ESB with his speed.

No passing game, mean Mich St is going to load the box and make ND throw the ball. Two things we should find out.
1-How good is this OL in run blocking.
2-Can Wim make the throws he needs to make.

Michigan state's defense hasn't given up a TD yet this year. Probably not good news.

Wimbush has a strong arm. Supposedly he looks good in practice. Hopefully by the 4th game, he settles down and starts to feel more comfortable in the pocket. I'd hate to have to run against a MSU team that is loading the box.

Yeah Boooiii

To be honest ranks mean nothing until after week 6. I dont get it either after LSU got blown out by an un rank team and we lost to a top 15 team. Makes no sense but if we win we will be fine. We need to be 5-1 going into the USC game. This MSU game is Big 1) Its MSU- always want to beat them. 2) MSU is 2-0 and their 1st loss being from us would be fun 3) Rivalry game 4) We need this win. Show improvement. Going in the right direction.

Good Point. I think its a mix of both . He has over thrown his guys a lot but also I dont see the separation from this unit.

1 thing Im proud to see is that our Defense has improved under a good coach. We are still lacking pressure at the QB and our CBs are a little shaky but we are making the tackles and we are making the big spots and getting some turnovers. Its clear we need more talent on this end of the field.
