after listening to that interview Magic sounded more like he was led into his responses. not that Lakers haters care...

Not really. The first thing he said was: "I can't comment on another teams players" So, he was ok there.

Then, when the hypothetical running into each other was brought up, he said: "We gonna say Hi because we know each other" still okay.

The trouble came when he went into the "wink wink" part of his statement.

He was having fun and obviously joking, but you just can't do that.

Well, the allegation is tampering thats what youre asking. Specifically that they spoke with, or made an arrangement with PG prior to the trade. The Lakers are denying it, of course.
Well again, what did Magic say that made the allegation tampering?

Randle is just as good as Odapilo and younger and so far experts far more knowledgeable are saying Randle has tremendous potential this year and Sabonis is garbage in comparison the Pacers got one player and no drafts instead of two solid players plus two first round picks. That might not be as good as Paul George, but already know they were not going to get their value this quick - now if they had waited even a few weeks, then yes they could have done better. They screwed up really big time

I heard people saying Randle had tremendous potential a couple years ago. He will get better, but again. There is a reason the Lakers don't view him as a core piece moving forward. He will be considered a bad contract after next summer when somebody signs him for $25 million a year. He might be an above average NBA player, but he isn't a future star.

If Randle was truly viewed that way, he would be just as untouchable as Ingram.

Good point, but really, you can't even wink at a guy?

meh, i'm still of the mind that no real infraction occured, but that's just my opinion. i still believe nothing's gonna come of this, but we'll see soon enough...

Honestly, I don't think that offer would be better than Oladipo and Sabonis. Very comparable.

I disagree. I don't think Oladipo or Sabonis will be as good as Clarkson or Randle and I'm not sure they'll be better than the guys the Lakers got with their picks.

I know you're pretty high on Oladipo, but I'm not sold on him. I don't think Westbrook is entirely to blame for how he performed last year.

The "wink wink" part was when Magic said something along the lines of... "I can't say you gotta come to the Lakers, but he'll know what that wink wink means."

That's the part that is technically tampering because it's an indirect means of communicating to him. It's very similar to when Steve Kerr got fined $25,000 for for saying "Of course we'd love to have Lebron" during an interview with Dan Patrick.

The Lakers should absolutely be fined for Magic's comments on Kimmel. But if that's all there is, the Pacers are going to look like petty little bitches when this all said and done.

The violation comes because the rule includes indirect contact or communication as well. This is enough to be considered indirect communication. I think the Lakers should and probably will get fined. But unless a side deal or more direct communication can be proven, that's likely all that they're looking at.

Unless Randle develops a 3 pointer its hard to see where he fits...hes the classic tweener....in todays NBA you gotta be able to stretch the floor if thats your game. Also- i read that he gets an ungodly amount of shots blocked at the rim.

Hes interesting offensively since - as far as PF's go- i think Walton wants him to be a draymond and get 4-5 assists a game- and it looks like eventually he might be capable of doing that.

but hes not fast enough to guard and switch on the perimeter like a TT, and hes not strong enough/big enough to guard in the middle. He will need to be paired with a very good defensive center.

if he developed a 3 he would be interesting---- but like u said- the most important thing is the contract situation....this is his last cheap year.

if you trade for Randle your committing to pay him a pretty damn good amount of money and it will be for what you think he might be- not what he has been. Thats always a little risky- especially when a guy is a tweener like him.

Obviously there are some very good things about him though- hes a good instinctive rebounder, and he definitely is a natural scorer.

Unless they have more than the Kimmel interview, which seems unlikely, the only thing it's likely to cost them is some money.
Yea I doubt very seriously that the Lakers get their asses handed to them for the Kimmel interview. But hey, a guy can dream can't he?

A Hornets fan is talking shit?

Classic.

Good luck with DH, the man-baby.

When your team is desperate enough to hitch their wagon to Dwight...talking shit is all you have left. :heh:
