Lookin' good so far...

Marcus Mariota completed 6-of-8 passes for 61 yards and one touchdown in the Titans' second preseason game against the Panthers.

Mariota played a pair of series, leading a field goal drive on the first before finishing the second off with a four-yard touchdown to Delanie Walker who was wide open on a corner route. Mariota's first pass was a 20-yard bullet on a deep in to rookie WR Taywan Taylor. On the next play, Mariota kept it on a read-option for a nine-yard run. Looking healthy off last year's broken fibula, Mariota has top-five fantasy QB upside with a now-loaded skill group.

I think you should trade for Taywan Taylor in D2... and L. Murray...

Desean is a rare player. Ever think Desean had something to do with the Skins being the #2 passing offense?

The Bucs won't stay down at #16 with him there. The top is off the defense, and they're all on their heels.
Four teams in the NFL gave up more yards than the Redskins last year. (No team
Surrendered more first downs.)

That had as much to do with Washington being #2 in passing yards as Desean. They also were fifth in yards penalized.

I'm a Lions fan.

The reasons for huge passing yards are seldom on account of being exceptional on offense. Or a good football team. (Redskins also gave up the ninth most rushing yards and fourth most rushing TDs. 8th most passing yards...)

Atlanta also was bad on D. Sixth most points given up, 8th most total yards and fourth most first downs. And Matt Ryan passed for an assload of yards.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

I get what you're saying and it does sound logical.
But I have a hard time buying into the idea that because a team's defense is poor, that that forces the offense to pile on yardage.
(I get that you're spinning this in relation to DJAx too.)
But does it really matter if an offense CHOOSES to pile on the yards or if the offense MUST pile on the yards?
Skins, Falcons, Saints... their defenses may be bad, but I can't see Drew Brees and the Saints dialing it back if their defense was a wee bit better.
Unless I'm missing your point? :noidea:
