I feel like with visual things, I either don't see things easily, or I need to look at them for a while. Like if there was a Where's Waldo challenge among 20 people, I'd probably finish 18th.

I am feeling pessimistic and that whatever pinhole projector I make won't be good enough to make an eclipse shadow.

But I guess I'll try.

Since I live in California, should I try 1120 KPNW Eugene, OR and 1190 KEX Portland, OR?

What do you think they'll broadcast?

Are there any other stations I should try?

Solar Eclipse 2017: In the path of totality

SWLing Post contributor, Dan Srebnick also suggests a few stations you might try catching on the AM broadcast band. Dan notes:

Something to do during the solar eclipse on Monday. There are 13 clear channel AM stations along the path of totality. Give a listen for them:

Your vision and search is fine, it's just that you would probably spend so much time questioning why somebody in the Where's Waldo picture would go to that beach when there is an equally good beach on the other side of the picture with fewer people. Then, you would wonder whether the popular beach was historical or something. ;)

From my projection box:

The first 5 pictures were taken at about 10:34 AM.

I think the 1st, 4th, and 5th picture show a partial sun being covered in the bottom left corner of the sun? Either that, or there appears to be a tiny bit of darkness in the immediate circumference around the sun. I'm not sure how much of this is because of the shape of my pinhole.

I don't notice anything unusual with my sun projection in the 3rd eclipse picture, though.

The 6th picture was at 12:58 PM. The sun looks fully round.

The 7th was at 7:06 PM. Sun looks full again.

I would say screw the popular beach. I want to enjoy the space of the less crowded one, as long as the water looks good.
