This will be a tough game tonight. The Texans really gave the Pats fits on Wednesday and really took the Patriots offense to school. After an ass chewing the Patriots played/practiced much more aggressively and exposed a weak Texan secondary and showed QB Deshon Watson that the NFL isn't the NCAA.

The Patriots will have some issues tonight. Solder and Garcia are still out with mysterious ailments. Adrian LaWaddle will be at LT. Brady is playing for at at least the first two offensive series. There will be no seven step drops. JJ Watt and Clowney are both 100% and Brady can't be taking 4-5 seconds to drop back and unload. Three steps at the max and release. Houston will have to deal with 4 and 5 WR sets.

On defense, Rivers, Wise, McLellin and Hightower are out.

I'll DVR it for you.

Crazy question?? Has anyone ever somehow been able to transfer a DVR to SportsHoopla???

The Pats didn't play all that bad until the end of the game.

Brady had an INT that didn't result in anything. First team looked pretty good and Cameron Fleming was excellent at left tackle. Brady was 6-9 for 89 yards and a TD. He played 2 offensive series.

JG made some very bad decisions last night. One was the most costly. Instead of taking the sack or throwing the ball out of bounds, he tried to float it to the right sideline high and got picked. it resulted in a 47 yard return to the 7 yard line and the Texans scored on the first offensive play.

Brisset was horrible in his only offensive series. Again, everything he threw was high. He's got a great arm but he has no idea how to control it. Of course he was playing with the fringe group of players but he was also playing against the fringe defense of the Texans.

Next Friday is against the Lions in Detroit. Brady will most likely play for almost 3 quarters if the past is any indication. The Lions will be followed by the Giants in the final preseason game in Gillette.

I realize it is only preseason. I realize a lot of starters either didn't play at all or played very sparingly. That being said, the second preseason game continued a disturbing trend of the defense allowing big plays. Also, Gillislee still has a hamstring injury. Sometimes these hammy injuries can linger for a long time. I look forward to the third preseason game, the "dress rehersal" for the regular season, when the regulars generally play a lot longer. This will tell us a lot more about what this year's team will look like.

How the fuck is that not a catch? The Lucian catch in the 4th quarter. He goes up and catches it. He comes down and he is on his back when a Texan comes in and knocks the ball out. The ball isn't moving around at all. Lucian has control. How is that not a catch and down by contact? Or, a catch and fumble?

It was a catch. No question in my mind that BB would have challenged that in the regular season.

Lucien seems to be losing his job. He has been tied to Brissett's bad passes can't help
DJ Foster had a great game - damn we can't keep them all!
Cyrus was up and down as Ken put it. I can't think he helped his cause.
Burkhead looked great.
Do we know if Gillislee's hammy is grade 1 or grade 2? Grade 1 is not serious but can go grade 2 easily if they are not patient. I think a grade 2 would put him on PUP list, maybe even IR with the number of good RB's
Bolden looked very good.
Brissett has no clock and no pocket presence. He looked better last year.....

Rewatch it. The ball didn't move or come out until the defender hit the ball. Lucian was on his back.

I did re-watch it. Ball moved as soon as he hit the turf. I have been watching Lucien carefully. I have been hoping he would make the team. He only seems to get Brissett at QB. If he doesn't get a chance at 1st string next week, he'll get cut. Doesn't seem fair but I have not seen practices.....

Losing his job? As a practice squad guy. Carr has passed him

DJ Foster had a great game - damn we can't keep them all! :agree:

He had a very good game as a returner. He made one mistake. He probably should have let one punt go. I think that one would have gone into the end zone. Or, fair catch it.

Burkhead looked great. :agree:

No need to rush him. Burkhead, Lewis, and White can hold it down until he is healthy.

Bolden looked very good.

Brissett looked better last year? Playing with starters will do that for you.

It's pretty interesting how two people can see the same play and completely disagree on what happened. With said....You are wrong!:pound:

I've been wrong before.... (don't tell anybody)

I thought Cyrus flashed some in the returns. I don't hold the one return against him - he had to field it.
I was not happy with the missed tackle or not going to the ball on plays he could have gotten in on.
I have actually seen Cyrus going away from the ball. He cannot CB and when he lines up as safety, he shies away from hitting. Was his problem with muffing the ball because he was afraid of taking the hit?????

No, the ball was secure until the defender fell on him, that was a catch. I couldn't care less about these scrimmages anyways so , no matter.

Lucien was never going to make the team barring several injuries to the established WR's. If BB can stash him on the practice squad I think he might do that, if he has to clear waivers or is out of options he will be moving on next week.

It's often referred to as Blind Homerism. It's not covered under your current PPO or the Affordable Health Care Act.

My two cents:

The TB12 near INT was just a bad read by Brady it happens even to the " best of the best of the best".

JG looked solid other than one stupid mental breakdown ie the INT on the sideline. He basically panicked IMO with his arm strength he should have just thrown it away and not floated the pass.

Jones had flashes the team will have to make a judgement call on him.

I think Lucien is the gone. Oddly enough we have a RB and TE log jam this will be interesting to watch. I think Valentine being back will be nice I am worried less about the middle than I am the edges.
