Holgorsen Gives Update on Jovon Durante, Two More Injuries

West Virginia Head Coach Dana Holgorsen met with the media prior to Sunday's practice and, once again, there was no sign of wide receiver Jovon Durante. At this time, Holgorsen says he's not sure when that will change.

"He has not reported and (I) don't know if he will or when he will," said Holgorsen. "He has personal things that he's got to work on. We're going to get some other guys ready to go."

Yeah... I heard he lost his grandmother who raised him. But, Dana's comment that he wasn't sure if or when he might return makes me less optimistic.

Hard situation losing people he loved but I hope someone tells him not to pass up a free college education

While we will certainly miss the speed part of his game, he truly under performed in his 2 years at WVU. Similar to another Miramar WR... Ivan McCartney.

Hard for some to overcome a loss in the family. Hopefully he is doing the right thing for him and his family. Best of luck to him.

From what I've read it wasn't JUST that. He was evidently facing a suspension too for violation of team rules (grades is the rumor) and was going to definitely miss the VT game and possibly a few more so... Guy just didn't have his act together off the field. Maybe the move closer to home gets him on the right path to get his degree:noidea:

I would not be surprised if he never plays again....

As far as I am concerned this is the best time for the upgrade at QB, i think he will help some on the on paper problems we seem to have at WR.

I think we will be just fine.

I had this conversation with BBW over the weekend.. I told you all last year that my niece was tutoring this kid..he felt entitled, he was only at WV to play football and then go pro...he would hardly ever show for his tutoring sessions...

Kid pissed away his education

I agree, I know he is getting a ton of hype but I don't think that its a stretch at all to believe that Grier is going to be a HUGE upgrade at QB from what we have had since Geno Smith and I don't know that its THAT big of a stretch to say that he MIGHT be better than Geno when its all said n done and yes, no question improved QB play/accuracy ect. will make our WR's jobs a lot easier and we have been good at WR for awhile now so while I worry about certain positions on the team, WR aint one of them....

Now can we protect that QB like we need to:hope:.

I think we prob will but never know til the games begin.

Geno Smith Second Round pic of the Jets...I would say until Grier makes it to the next level and takes a snap its a stretch

Just basing it off of recruiting rankings and seeing SEC competition vs BigEast competition at this point. He has to prove it but the guy is being compared to Arron Rogers on some sites as far as future projections (and to be fair that's all that they are at this point) so if he is THAT level of good then.. He will be > Geno. We'll see.

I hope he is the best that WVU has seen since.....well ever :thumb:
