Thus far we've had a pretty good board here with the restrictions, so before I give my answer I have a few questions .

1. Are we to be restricted to the team or will matters that are NFL related to be included? I remember that there were many comments on Ray Rice, Kapernick, and more recently E. Elliot. Rice and Kapernick as possible signees here, with Elliot's situation as related to our fortunes this year.

2. Is the "Name Change" thread and all associated references to the same considered political?

3. What happens if/or more likely when this team is drawn into other matters spreading through the league?

4. Will attack commentary on editorial writers, reporters and the like be restricted?

5. Leeway? How much or how little? Restricted to that point where someone doesn't like it, or continued becaues it's agreeable?

Honestly, there are so many forums where one can go to discuss/debate politics. I just don't see the need here. But if it is a separate thread, i guess that is fine. I will never visit it. I come here to discuss football and, specifically, the Redskins. If I want to discuss politics, i'll go somewhere else.

Unfortunately in today’s world, every expressed opinion right or wrong has political overtones. Sad times these are my brothers and sisters.

In my best Crash Davis voice…I believe all men are created equal, the name Washington Redskins is not racist, Cowboy fans are delusional, and post on the general football board is overrated crap. I believe Roger Goodell acts in the best interest of his employers. I believe there ought to be a hoop amendment for suspension for all the dump shit Cowboy fans post on our team site, and general board that should ban them for a minimum of 6 weeks, like Zeke. I believe a defensive player has the right to hit a quarterback in the head without penalty if it wasn’t intentional, league suspensions for marijuana use or drinking are wrong, and a slow, long seasons of unhappiness for Dallas Cowboy fans.

That is all, good night and HTTR.

now that i think about it ... we already have a home for folks who want to talk about anything they want to talk about ... including politics ... the off topic lounge

i moved all posts from the name debate thread to the off topic lounge that did not involve the name debate

Sty this looks like an invitation to hire three lawyers to determine which side of the fence a comment falls on. :DWe are all grown ups or at least we think we are. :pound:I trust dad, Krush and (not sure if there are other moderators) to use good judgement. I think they have in large part looked out for the best interest of site. We argue amongst each other from time to time but overall I think we have a good group and this forum has been tons better than the ESPN forum was.

1) no you are restricted solely to team matters

2) to , me the name change thread IS NOT a "political "thread but it does deal with the team thread and it is political

3) if the team is drawn into mattesr that are spreading across the league , then to me that is about redskins football . IE a skins players kneels for the anthem or gets arrested , or has a domestic violence or a player owner of coach or FO person comments on an issue then as i see it its fair to talk about it

4) i attack the hell out of commentators (mike wise ) and (JLC ) so if it pertains to our team then go for it .

5) leeway is a little harder for me to explain . it would be case by case i guess sty but a lot depends on what we decide

if we decide no political thread then i will nip political talks in the bud as i have been lately . i dont think anyone wants to hear about Trump vs obama vs HRC and liberal /conservative crap

i hope this helps you out sty

for those that haven't, go spend about 10 minutes reading over on the political forum and decide whether you want that here. I would recommend not doing it.

However, if moving forward with it, I'd like to recommend deanpet to be moderator.

OK, then I vote no to a political thread just as long as we can have these cross-over discussions in the "Off Topic Thread" References to "political correctness"also are relegated to that forum and when these matters do come up there is an immediate determination by the mods relating to what's allowed. (There are 3 of you so no ties)

Beyond that, I want to repeat my earlier statement relating to how well this board is and has been run. I really appreciate the responses that you've given to my concerns.....Thanks!

Let me amend what I said earlier. I am fine without a political thread, just do it in the Off Topic thread.

In the end what Krush said wasn't bad and when you consider he is a responsible member here I would have no issue. There a few others who take liberties and that is my concern. Hell we are going to F-up at some point or another but if we can take a little coaching I think we will be fine. :thumb:

I would not worry about this too much. These type of posts stand out now because this is a very slow period. In about a month - when real football is being played - these type of posts & threads will get lost in the shuffle. At that time there will be tons of new threads & a lot more activity. It is all good.

I rarely post but give a resounding no! It would kill this board entirely. Everyone would either call everyone else a racist or a SJW. When people are behind the keyboard it just amps people up to be as nasty as possible.

Please just leave this a football board, it's bad enough when I go to PFT people get bombarded with a political agenda, I wish I could stay clear of this here and I've been around since the ESPN days.

Im torn, but I'll vote no. It would get ugly. There is a 99.999%. chance that we could not discuss politics without name calling and someone getting called racist, bigot, commie, rainbow liberal fairy, or something of the sort. There a few posters IMO that would get out line quickly.
