Not lookin too good tonight

It's a good thing they decided to show up from the 6th inning on....:thumb:

Mets with B2B games with walk off hits....and b2b vulture wins for Hansel Robles....:D

Wilmer Flores tattooed a 2 out fastball into the LF seats...FTW!!

Flores hits HR in 9th, Mets past A's 6-5 for 4th straight

Oakland Athletics vs. New York Mets - Box Score - July 22, 2017 - ESPN

Fun stat:
With his 2 run HR in the 6th inning tonight,Jay Bruce now has 25 HR this season, his 7th season with 25+ HR.
Since his debut in 2008, only Albert Pujols (8) and Miguel Cabrera (8) have more.

Mets with B2B games with walk off hits

D'oh!
Mea culpa.

I got a little ahead of myself...it wasn't b2b walkoff hits/wins...the other one was in thursday's 3-2 win against the Cards...on Reyes' infield rbi single that he legged out.

TC allows Montero to linger in the game just long enough to lose....
A's win the finale 3-2....on all solo shots.
Mets fall to 5-11 on Sunday in 2017....:L .......Geeeez.

Mets tied the game twice, but both times Montero failed to toss a shutdown frame.

We also might have seen the final AB's in a Met uniform in Queens for Duda, Cabrera, Reyes, Granderson, and maybe Bruce too.
The BP could even undergo a total different make up while the team is on the upcoming 10 game west coast road trip...which begins tomorrow and ends on Aug 3rd.

Chapman atones for blunder, homer lifts A's over Mets 3-2

New York ... 7/24:

The New York Mets placed RHP Zack Wheeler on the 10-Day Disabled List on Monday, retroactive to July 23, with a stress reaction in his right arm and recalled RHP Tyler Pill from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Pill will wear #56 and will be available for tonight's game at San Diego.

Pill, 27, made his major league debut earlier this year and is 0-3 with a 5.00 ERA (10 earned runs/18.0 innings) in five games, three starts for the Mets. He was 4-3 with a 3.47 ERA (31 earned runs/80.1 innings) in 13 starts for Las Vegas this year.

Wheeler was also on the DL from June 21-July 1 with biceps tendinitis. Wheeler is 3-7 with a 5.21 ERA (50 earned runs/86.1 innings) in 17 starts with the Mets this season.

I think it was merely a precautionary move...and by all indications he's playing tonight, but will be given the day game off on Thursday.

It's gotten to where every time he slides to make a catch or legs out a double, I'm holding my breath that he doesn't aggravate a hammy or something

Mets lose 6-3.
Sheeesh....Matz looked more like Wheeler or Montero tonight.
They'll try for the series win in tomorrow's matinee...then it's up to Seattle for the weekend.

Torrens' triple helps lift Padres over Mets 6-3

RHP Chris Flexen will make his major league debut for the Mets in San Diego on Thursday as he maneuvers the jump from Double-A Binghamton. He's the first Mets starting pitcher since Mike Pelfrey in 2006 to skip Triple-A. Flexen was 6-1 in the minors, which included a stint with Single-A St. Lucie.

Mets Manager Terry Collins said INF Neil Walker (torn left hamstring) could rejoin the club for this weekend's series in Seattle. When Walker returns, he could see time at third base. His 58 starts this year have been at second base.
