Philadelphia Eagles swap Allen Barbre to Denver Broncos for pick

If he plays next to Bolles the Broncos will have two top Oline athletes lining up next to each other. Barbe comes close to Bolles in athleticism. 33 years old. Nice move - IMO

Looks like he is gonna challenge Garcia... Experienced vet a tad past his prime but the way we played on the OL the last two years I won't complain a bit. He can play multiple spots and is still playing pretty well. It reminds me a bit of our Evan Mathis transaction two years ago... I am guessing the condition is based on him starting a certain amount of games or the notion that is is on our roster at the start of the 2018 season, which would be why it is for 2019 condition. Good move for us. Surely won't hurt and I wasn't exactly comfortable going into camp with what we saw last year.

Could put Donald Stephenson on the ropes too with his ability to play OG and RT.

Hard to imagine there's nothing but enthusiasm related to any and all additions Denver has acquired on O line since end of last season. Hell, besides Paradis, if Denver announced they signed a black bear from SD zoo 6 months ago, I'd I've been elated.

Black bears can be downright nasty, and quite literally maulers. Just the kind of thing we need on our O-line!

If he doesn't make the team we are out nothing... It condition on him making the roster. I think he will, but at least we have that safety net if he can't beat out Garcia.

This is a move to get Leary back to his old spot since Garcia is having issue with both G position. Now Ronald is comfortable back where he is at his best and we upgraded over Garcia.

I think with Bolles, Barbe, Paradis, Leary and Watson - the Broncos will have an Oline who can get push in the run game - it makes them better pass protectors too - if the Defense can't just pin their ears back and go after the QB.
Another thing - is that they are all very good blockers at the 2nd level - which will spring some dynamic run and short pass plays. I'm beginning to see the Coaching plan here.

this. run the ball more effectively and it opens up everything else. longer drives. tired and beat up defense. safeties on their heels. lbs having to come up. play action. im biased as an iowa dude but ive been craving a running game for effing ever and this should help. by the sounds of it i think Barbe will be LG with Leary at RG

I think most if not all Bronco fans will take average after the crap we have seen on the field the last 2 years. Average is a huge jump from years past.

To me the biggest advantage this trade gives the Broncos is for sure having a quality veteran next to Bolles. I was really worried not so much about whether Garcia could handle LG better than RG but more so for Bolles' sake to have a veteran lining up next to him and help out. So if Leary moves back or if Barbe goes to the LG spot we have a guy with quality snaps at the position.
