Also noteworthy in Rosenthal’s report is the list of names the O’s apparently aren’t willing to trade. The club isn’t listening to offers for Manny Machado or Adam Jones, and though Mychal Givens is receiving interest from rival clubs, the O’s also don’t plan on dealing the righty, who is controllable through the 2021 season.

If they are going to start trading guys minus well trade Manny, Jones, and Castillo. This team isn't going to compete next year with out 4 new starting pitchers.

Besides, the question isn't whether the Orioles organization is going to eventually lose these players, but under whose terms will it happen. Ideally, they should start looking for potential trade partners ASAP, with NL teams being preferred... because the worst-case alternative scenario is allowing Machado, etc. to sign with the Yankees or Red Sox as free agents, which could make the Orioles irrelevant for another decade or two.

"Interestingly, the Rockies are said to have inquired about Orioles Kevin Gausmanand Dylan Bundy. Those two have struggled quite a bit this year; since the start of June, the former has allowed 32 earned runs in 40 2/3 innings while the latter has surrendered 29 earned over his 36 1/3 frames. Still, they’ve each experienced their share of MLB success after long runs as top prospects. And both can be controlled into the future, Gausman for three years and Bundy for four."

Someone wants Gausman? I guess they figure buy low.

I still am thinking we should sell, even if we're only 4 or 5 games out. I think this year is more of a sellers market and could probably get a good haul for some of our players and set us up for the next few seasons.
By the way, how is Colorado's minor league system in terms of prospects? Because it seems like them and the Dodgers have been the main ones interested in our players.

Colorado has the number #1 overall MiLB ranked player in McMahon. I would assume he is untouchable unless we gave up of top prospect of ours as well.

They also have the #28 which is a outfielder #43 also a outfielder #29 first baseman in AA #41 SS in AA and #21 outfielder in single A.

They have some prospects in positions we need ie. OF and SS. Doesn't look like to much for pitching.

"The Rockies announced that they’ve acquired right-hander Pat Neshek from the Phillies in exchange for minor league infielder Jose Gomez and minor league right-handers J.D. Hammer and Alejandro Requena."

Because we can't use 3 minor leaguers. Dan continues to do nothing. Hopefully he is gone this offseason.

Yep, folks want to see Buck go as well, but I am not one of them. This is just the result of shitty FO leadership. Under MacPhail, this team was put in prime position to compete. He acquired Jones, Tillman, Hardy, Davis and several other key pieces. Who exactly has Dumpster Dan acquired to continue that success? Trumbo? Kim? Miley? Let Markakis walk when he could have still been a great leadoff hitter for us.

I would give oday or brach to me britton is a closer we need to lock up . if we get a bedard deal ok lets trade . as far as untouchable britton ,mancini , schoop , manny , gausman and bundy . in minors mullins , scott , sisco , mountcastle and hays . last I looked bridwell is doing well in the majors along with. drake davies and edrod . we have good arms in the minors to replace any bp arms except britton . btw Harvey is back pitching had his second outing in a week . wright went 3 in bb 5 k at aaa

when a coach says mountcastle is one you want to see his bp from the top step and he says mullins and hays is the same way and this is a team that has steward the first rd pick . I still think mountcastle should work at second instead of third .

From what it's sounding like now, probably the two teams that we'd be having dialog's with are the Dodgers and Astros for Britton. I just hope we don't make a trade just to make a trade (like the Bigbie for Byrnes trade over 10 years ago).

Completely agree with the bold part. MacPhail made a huge impact his first offseason as the GM that would shape this franchise for years to come. All Dumpster Diving Dan does is add pieces here and there, tries to load the team with rule V guys and trade away international signing slots (which baffles me) for minor leaguers.
As for Trumbo, he did good last year and now that he's re-signed, he hasn't been nearly as good this year. Looking back, we might as well have re-signed Nelson Cruz because he looks to still be as good as ever up in Seattle.
Kim has been more of a disappointment this year. Last year he was getting on base a lot more and making more of his opportunities when Rickard went on the DL. Don't know if Kim just doesn't like batting 7th or 8th or if it's Buck using him sparingly.
Miley was a joke from the start. This felt like one of those trades that makes it look like the front office is doing something when he wasn't going to ever help the team.
While I don't know if Markakis was worth $12 million a year, I always did like him batting either 1st or 2nd in the lineup. And you very rarely ever had to worry about a misplayed ball in right field as long as he was out there.

The main guys I'd keep would be Mancini, Bundy and Sisco. I'd like that to be our main nucleus for years to come. As far as anyone else, I'd definitely listen if something completely overwhelmed me.

See, I'm at the opposite end. I felt that they should have traded him in the offseason. His value was at its ceiling, and they could have gotten 3-4 solid/top prospects for a replaceable closer. Especially with Brach, Givens and now Castro, who could take his place. Just par to the course for Dumpster Dan...

WTF. Why are you buying Dan? Giving up a minor league pitcher for Hellickson. WTF.

He's a free agent st the end of the year. You should be selling Kim smith and castillo

Jeremy Hellickson is not going to be the guy that puts this team in the wild card. You're right, for a guy like Hellickson, we should be dumping guys on the main roster that are hardly being used like Kim or some minor league guy that's unlikely to go anywhere to start with.

Dumpster Dan is killing this team! No way is Hellickson worth that much! I still think this guy is holding a grudge for not letting him go to Toronto a couple of years ago.

Looks like it was indeed Kim that was the major leaguer that was shipped out.

why would you give up a 3rd round lhp for a 2 month player ? let alone a major league player and slot money also , when we just sold bridwell for very little .
