I still think someone like Boston could be a buyer for Frazier. Melky is another possible chip, IMO. Q being moved still wouldn't shock me. Buyers make stupid moves at the deadline out of desperation every year.

Robertson will 100% be moved. IMO. Multiple playoff contenders need closers. Namely Washington.

i agree those guys could go. i just don't think they're worth much. none of those guys are worth their salaries.

it's apparent that Q is not right. he had a couple good games but he's reverted again. k's are nice and all but he's throwing too may pitches (like he used to for years and can't get out of the 6th innings) but now he's also not hitting his spots and his era is below league average. why would anyone offer much now for Q? i used to think he was a great chip to trade to help rebuild this team. as of now i think that's gone.

Thankfully we were both wrong...

I hope to see him do well on the North side, and believe a rebirth is very possible in that division and in the NL.

However, I'll take the top two prospects in your organization and run. Thank you very much.

I also hope he pitches well but I would be fine if he keeps racking up the unwarranted Ls due to poor run support. I cant support them lol

Yeah, also. If he stinks, it will mean we got away with a highway robbery of the North siders. You'd have to smile at that. So, you know what? I hope he gets shelled!

it's just one game. he's pitched well in a couple games for the sox this year so it's not a total surprise. but i do hope he has a great year cause i can't think of anyone who deserves it more. yes i was wrong on his trade value but i think i can live with that :P
so it's all up to the continued development of these 'potential stars' we now have in the system, but the sox of late seem to be a black hole in this department. i'll say it again ... i have no confidence whatsoever the sox are up to the task. i still believe this team will never amount to anything until that whole front office is gone. they are poison.

Rumor has it both the Red Sox and the Yankees are looking at Frazier so here's to a bidding war! Yanks are also looking at Robertson.

Unfortunately the Nats already traded for bullpen help.

Deal is done, but it hasn't all leaked out yet.

We have sent Frazier, Robertson and Kahnle. So far, it's come out that we're getting their 2018 first round pick, Rutherford and Clarkin. Possibly more.

glad to see frazier gone. couldn't have happened soon enough imo. i liked robertson and i'm not crazy about both he and kahnle being gone. not sure who qualifies as a closer now. kahnle might just be the biggest mistake here. he could develop into a real beast.
still ... for all those who insisted this wasn't a real 'rebuild' ...... guess again! :)

oh they are ripping up the foundation and starting with a handful of beams. There is no doubt here and there never was. Im tired of sitting in the top half of the bottom third. Lets just rip the band-aid off and really suck for a year and a half and then come back with a vengeance!

Yeah, I really thought Kahnle was a guy we were keeping around for the long haul, as our future closer. Oh well, we added another top 30 overall prospect in Rutherford, a nice IF prospect in Clarkin and a couple throw-ins. I'll take it.

Couldn't be happier to get something for Frazier. Yeesh... I mean, I could see where he might have some value to a contender like New York or Boston, that simply has a big hole at third base. Get over there and hit some home runs for them. He's an upgrade over Headley. However, watching him struggle to hit his weight here, there was just no reason for it. It was maddening.

Glad to see that we're finally all-in on this rebuild. Kenny FINALLY stepping aside and just letting Hahn get to work. Hard to dispute that we don't have the #1 farm system now.

Oh, and we got Tyler Clippard from the Yankees. 32 year old bullpen arm. Two-time all-star for WSH, but has struggled this year. He's our closer, I believe.

Fortunately, I think next year could start to get fun. We won't be contending, but a lot of our big name prospects will be up and playing every day.

I think we're sitting right about where the Cubs were in the first couple years of Theo's arrival. Gathering a surplus of young talent, and soon inching our way closer and closer to success.

Im tired of sitting in the top half of the bottom third.

Lol... That's a good way to put it. Sums up where this team has been at, since blowing the Central lead in September of 2012.

It feels good to see national sporting news outlets praising us a bit. I haven't felt optimism about this team for a long time. I was watching some clips on YouTube of some old White Sox teams last night. I can't wait until this team is winning again. Hopefully this is the beginning of getting back there.

Nice first plate appearance by Moncada. Fell down 0-2, fouled off pitches, refused to go down and eventually worked a walk. If cutting down on K's is his biggest hurdle, that was a good start.

Moncada making some good contact, just not falling in for hits. 2 BB's to 1 K is a good sign.

Wouldn't mind seeing him do some damage against the North siders.

Eloy Jiminez is murdering the ball in his first week in high-A ball, for what it's worth. Good news.

Yeah, I was actually hoping that we would get a shot at Quintana. However, he pitched Sunday vs STL. Cubs have been playing great since the break. It'd be nice to shut the other side of town up a bit. Maybe Rodon gives us a good performance today? He's such an enigma.

4 IP
4 ER
7 BB's
11 K's

So much ability... will Rodon ever actually figure it out? He's a mess. He nearly walked John Lackey on 4 pitches.

Hahn is making tons of moves. I love the way he is setting the team up for the future.

Yeah, jeez... Two more deals last night. Swarzak to Brewers for Ryan Cordell (OF prospect). Lamb to Colorado for cash.

I don't see why we can't move Melky. If we agree to eat some of that 15 mil he's owed, why not? He's pacing for 20+ HR's and 90 RBI's, hitting nearly .300. You're telling me a contender can't use a switch-hitting OF posting those numbers?

EDIT: Wow. Just as I posted this. I came across an article posted just a couple of hours ago, saying the Pirates are going after Melky.

Pittsburgh Pirates Trade Target: OF Melky Cabrera
