Replay clearly shows the ball hitting Heredia in the shoulder and changing direction.

CRUZ BABY!!! Didn't realize he's batting 3.41 with runners in scoring position... WOW, he comes through again! M's needed that...

What did we give up for Ben Gamel, because that was a big win in our book. Dude is a scrappy player with a lot of great attributes.

A Gamel, Segura, Haniger core is not bad going forward when Cano and Cruz are on the downswing.

Player trends (bored on a Sunday morning):

Cano - 6 hits in 12 at bats over last three games but hitting only .160 in July.

Zunino's slash over last 7 games - .269/.310/.500/.810. May not seem like much but we all know that it is great for Zunino.

Haniger 5-12 in last three games. Hopefully finally coming out of funk.

Gamel - 9-game hitting streak. Since topping out at .353 on June 23rd, Gamel is 22-89 (.247 BA). Recent power surge is promising of future development.

Dyson - 1-28 since the All Star break.

Cruz - .342 in July. After hitting only 2 homeruns in June, his homeruns are piling up again in July.

Valencia - 1.157 OPS since the All Star break. 73-229 (.329 BA) since May 4th.

Seager's slash since All Star Break - .389/.389/.944/1.333. .944 SLG: that's insane.

Segura - 1-15 in last three games, .200 BA in last 7 games. His bat is cold but his base stealing is improving. After only being successful in 9 of his first 16 attempts, he has stolen safely in last three attempts.

Went to the game last night, got pretty wasted and dropped my phone and it no longer works.

We won but I'm still gonna blame the Mariners for this.

Regarding Zunino, he has also improved his approach a lot at the plate. Unsure if his K rate has improved, but he doesn't seem to be chasing as much on breaking balls. He is an easy guy to root for considering his raw abilities.

I can live with Dyson's bad streak, guy covers so much ground and when he gets on base he is a threat.

Valencia has been hitting really well recently. He probably doesn't get the credit he deserves. He has been the best 1B we have had in years.

Didn't realize Seager's numbers were that good. I know there were a bunch of balls in Houston and Chicago he hit that were not far from going out of the park. Noticed that he has been a really streaky player over the years.

Wouldn't worry too much about Segura. A lot of times when he was thrown out, generally he got unlucky because the catcher made a great play. I'm not surprised to see him getting thrown out less. He still has the speed.

Sims: "I don't think it got him"

OK Dave :L

I honestly cannot stand Dave Sims. The Mariners talent seems to be on the radio. I don't know why they kept Dave Niehaus mostly on radio duty for so long when the television audience is so much bigger. Every time I listen to Sims it reminds me of how much I miss Niehaus.

In highschool we had to write a paper about someone we thought of as a hero, so I wrote about Niehaus. I've always appreciated a good broadcaster.

Also I have to add this,

Mariners fans are fucking soft. 17th game I've gone to this year, whenever I'm there, it's easy to tell that 90% of the people at the game do not even know what the score is.

Kind of disappoints me that most people go to M's game as a social event. I enjoy hanging out at "the pen" because I always run into people I know from my UW frat days down there, but you can't even see the game and nobody is actually even watching.

Sims is a great guy but he's so dull. The entire root sports crew except for Rizzs seems so amaterrish and boring.
Blowers talks like he gets paid by how many words per minute he says and never says a bad thing about the team ever. Always selling it.

Goldsmith is like blowers jr but slightly less annoying but at times he needs to shut up too.

I agree. I'm not sure if it's because I've gotten older or if the quality of M's broadcasting has really fallen off.

This will probably seem pretty biased but you need a broadcaster who is actually a fan of the team. Sims is not.

Nice to see the Mariners getting shut down so far by a guy making his first start in his career
