The one thing I give Melo credit for or maybe I am wrong and it is all about getting more Benji's before he is done. Melo may be looking at this 6er team and seeing what I see, potential for greatness and dominance in the shorter term than most "experts". I really believe this team can compete with anyone if the stars line up correctly.

Why?

Because, I truly believe, they may have the best player in the NBA or soon to be (Joel E). They also have a player that was compared to a young Lebron (Simmons), a player that I think will be more than just a good NBA player (Dario), and we got the perfect fit in this year's draft Fultz.

I am all in for the 76'ers.

Bringing in the high priced veteran in intriguing because there is a window here financially where they have all this young talent, but have them on their first contracts, so there is money available. Done correctly, they could have a truly dominant team for a couple of years. Done incorrectly they could mess up the development of what looks to be a great core of young talent.

It all comes down to the player. A guy like Lebron comes across as the type who is a leader of men and putting team first. Jason Kidd was that sort of player as well. I don't think Carmelo is that sort of guy.

Melo wants to stay close to his son ... that's why he would be ok with a trade to Philly. Looks like the Knicks are likely going to buy him out though, so who knows where he ends up.

He won't be here. BC is not stupid. Melo isn't a role model, so he has no value for us. We're going young. We'll probably trade for Danny Green.

They don't need Melo, or any other aging star. The only one I would even be into is Iggy for his leadership and example he would set.

Sixers in meetings with Guard JJ Reddick this morning ... it looks like he will pick between the Sixers and the Nets (he owns a home in Jersey). Sixers have to use at least 90% of their Cap space and have a ton of it, so look for them to offer Reddick over 20 mil per season (if only for the upcoming season).

I also hope they will trade for Danny Green, and re-sign Ilyasova. Add JJ to them and we will have a real good team that can compete this year.

G/F Furkan Korkmaz will be coming over seas a year earlier than anticipated. Adding Reddick, Fultz and Korkmaz will greatly improve our outside shooting. Simmons and Embiid will still be on minutes restrictions this year (at least early in the season) ... but it should certainly be an interesting year.
