The Franchise QBs: Rank the top signal-callers in Patriots history

#1 is a no brainer.

#2 & #3 could go either way.

Thoughts, comments, smarmy remarks...??

Grogan brought the team to prominence in the '70's, Bledsoe Brought them back in the '90's.
Grogan could scramble where Bledsoe could not.
Bledsoe had the cannon arm, but could get flustered in the pocket.
Bledsoe replaced his replacement Brady in the AFC Championship to get us to the SB, Grogan replaced his replacement Eason in the SB.

I feel like the season start is a year away....

Both were on the cusp of greatness but always seemed to have that one poor decision undermine it all...

Honestly, my answer is

1) Brady
2) Incomplete

This is tough. Grogan was the qb when I first became a Patriots fan. So, there is sentimental value there. Drew got us to a Super Bowl and then stepped in and played clutch to help us get to another. I'm going with Drew....... I think? ???

Steve Grogan by a wide margin in my mind. Didn't have a lot of weapons to work with and as tough as nails.

Why the fuck was Tony Eason's name up there? Hated him with the white hot passion of a thousand suns.

Copy that.
I don't think the hatred for Eason would be so bad if so many other QB's had not come out that same year.

Both before and after.

Grogan for me. First game I ever saw were on those metal bleachers in Shaffer Stadium and saw Grogan. I actually met him one and got his autograph. Hell of a guy too!

Bledsoe. But just because I was always a fan. I kind of became a Patriots fan when Bledsoe came into the league. Loved him in college and the Patriots were the underdogs back then. Then Brady stole his job like a little bitch and became the greatest to ever play the game and now I hate the Patriots for it. Makes sense. I know, right.

Kudos for you being a Steelers fan and recognizing Brady's Goatness.

2 Grogan
3 Bledsoe
4 Vito "Babe" Parelli

Bledsoe former #1 pick, highest paid player in the league and simply had everything at his feet. Grogan was tough as nails and won the job as an unheralded QB from Kansas State - 5th round daft pick. Always had the impression Bledsoe didn't work hard enough at his craft - especially in the offseason.

Not too many around here even know babe Parrelli. You have to be old enough to have seen the Pats in the 1960's and early 70's. He did get the Pats to the AFL Championships against the Chargers way back when. That was my first football disappointment, followed by "Roughing" call............AAAAARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh

I remember you "Underdog"!

I'm glad Plunkett made it in the "Fan Vote" category. He's the reason I picked the Patriots as my team back in the 3rd grade. Read a short book about him. Loved the Patriots logo and colors. Been a fan for almost 40 years now.
