Blahhh Blah Blah...

Wake me up when George leads a team ANYWHERES other than to massive mediocrity.. And he had quite a bit of supporting talent on Indiana a few years ago.:L:L

Until then... Dude is a massive FAILURE. A complete "no show" under pressure.

I'll take PROOF of someone's track record over homers unfounded opinions and thinking hes the answer for another team's woes.

I would pass on George if I was a GM. That money can easily be well spent on someone much better .

That doesn't make any sense. Would you have passed on Durant? Prior to signing with GSW -- he'd won nothing.

The NBA has changed -- if you don't have AT LEAST two stars on your team, you aren't winning anything. If you don't have at least three stars on your team, your odds of winning a NBA title is very low.

Hell -- I posted this in another thread -- since 1980, every NBA champion has had a past, present or future MVP on the team, but Detroit in 89, Detroit in 90 and Detroit in '04. Paul George is a great player, but he isn't on the same level as the Lebron's, Durant's, Curry, etc. He needs other stars to team up with him if he wants a chance to make a run at a title.

PG isn't going anywhere this year after saying he would like to end up in LA.

If Cleveland finds a 3rd team and get creative, they'd trade for George as a one year rental without a doubt. The will be blowing up the Cavs after next year anyways.

I think PG and Lebron end up together in LA, so it'd give them a year of playing togwther

Like clockwork -- CBS has an article saying Cleveland is trying to make a deal for George, involving Denver and Indiana.

Says George and Kenneth Farried to Cleveland, Love to Denver and not sure what Indy gets? Draft picks maybe or a couple youngsters from Denver?

The Cavs have no shot with their current team to unseat GSW, so they will pull out all the stops to use the one year window to make a deal. With Lebron and Kyrie FA after next year -- don't think they will be staying in Cleveland.

Makes sense. If there is one team that is likely to take on PG-13 as a 1 year rental, it has to be the Cavs. As you point out, they aren't beating the Warriors as currently constructed. I don't necessarily think this would get them past the Warriors, but it gives them a much better chance.

if they're going to be blowing it up after the season, they may as well try to go out with a bang.

I largely agree with you but the 89 and 90 Pistons had 3 Hall of Famers on their team.

Chandler, Mudiay, something else is what I saw. But it read like the deal was talked about a few days ago and nothing came of it, not that they were currently trying to make it happen so it sounds like its dead

I think the Cavs/Nuggets/Pacers deal could make real sense. Especially if PG13 would not sign an extension with the cavs. Cavs will try to keep it together for one final push

I didn't see any mention of what Indy would get. The deal makes sense for all involved though. Indy would salvage something for PG. Cleveland can make one last run. Denver gets a perfect fit for what they are running there.

Forget the 3 team deal with Denver.

I think a deal like this would potentially be much better for both sides:

Cavs send:

Shumpert and Frye + 2021 and 2023 unprotected + pick swap option in 2022 (might be too much)

For George

In other words, a copy of the Nets/Celtics deal. But this time, the Cavs really are legit contenders.

This way, they keep Love and bet on themselves to keep the core together. If they land George without giving Love, they are more likely to be able to do that. Indiana would be betting on LeBron and George leaving, and the team being in shambles by the time these picks would transfer. I just don't think any future asset they can land from Denver would have this much potential value.

That's possible, but what they didn't have is a MVP (past, present or future).

Eh...

I don't like the Jokic/Love pairing. They would get barbecued defensively. Denver would be better for sure, but with very limited upward mobility.

Also, just not sure what future assets the Pacers would get that have any real value.

Mudiay? Their picks from this year? Future picks likely to be in the late teens/low 20s?

No thanks. Murray and Jokic are the only players there I would want. I like Barton to, but more as a throw in. Jokic wouldn't be in the deal and the report I saw didn't have Murray in either.

Does anyone really think PG would rent a truck and move himself? The team acquiring him would contrct commercial movers.

Adam Kaufman CBS Boston is reporting the following.................

Pacers and Celtics have agreed to a deal in principal. Boston will send draft pick(s) and player(s) to Indianapolis for Paul George. George has agreed to a 3 year Max Extension with the Celtics. 3 Hours after announcing this, photographs were taken of a moving truck in front of Paul George's massive home.

There is a caveat.......................Before this deal is finalized, the Celtics have to sign free agent Gordon Heyward.

As Kaufman states..........................Lotsa Dominos.

Indy can't be picky. Once PG announced he was leaving after the season, they lost all leverage and now they are just trying to get something for him.

I think the Jokic/Love pairing could work. They'd make it miserable for opposing teams defense by stretching the floor and making them guard to the 3 point line.

I agree defensively they wouldn't be the best pairing, but in the NBA, very few teams these days are pounding the ball into the post to their big man.

In all honesty -- many teams are just trying to make it interesting for their fans right now, as they know who will be in the NBA finals already. I think the move would at least make it fun to watch for the Nugget fans.

I fail to see what George brings to the table but whatever. Celtics need ALOT more than George to get over the hump and get to the finals. 90 percent of their team sucks.

Thomas ain't all that. Bradley is good but not great.

which is exactly why you dn't make the move without an extension, but you'll probably overpay for a guy who is going to be declining at the exact time the warriors dominance shows signs of cracking.

No clue about Indiana but in New Jersey -- many unregistered (and possibly some legitimate ones too) moving companies use rental trucks rather than purchasing their own vehicles. I'd guess it all depends on the state regulations -- but just because you see a Penske or UHaul doesn't mean that the person is moving on their own.
