Here's the thing. You guys lost your leading tackler the game before(dont know his name) , you lost the next best one durring the USC game (Akeem?) and your QB had a bum shoulder to end the season. You weren't on all cylinders by the end of the season. taking nothing away from your team they played a great season but I think those injuries took their toll.
UW lost the leading sack guy in the PAC and its leading tackler. Both LB's. Still though that doesn't excuse the shitty fvkng play calling by the UW coaches in that game. I seriously wanted to fly to Seattle and shoot someone ..(not that I would have). Starting with the OC and the DC.

The middle was open all night. USC TEs had a field day.

I was at that game. Both teams played like shit in that game. USC was just that much shittier.

All valid and true. However, the game after the USC one those backups were much improved because of the extra work and while Browning wasn't 100%, he more than got the job done.

UW didn't have the depth USC did. And they won't this year. Likely won't anytime soon. It will always be the 100lb gorilla waiting to derail a solid run. Much more than USC's risk.

However, UW lost the war of the trenches and for whatever reason didn't look like they had a good game plan. Planning is something Petersen is known for. He doesn't pass that shit off to the coordinators. He's very much in those plans and that one kind of sucked. They got away from what they do best. Don't know if they thought they had something from USC's film, or if they just got lost somehow and forgot who they were. That shit happens though.

I don't think you saw UW's best effort. But then UW didn't have it's best effort against Arizona or Utah either.

I think both were outstanding teams. USC was better than their early season record and UW wasn't as bad as the later season injuries kind of made them look.

I fear no team in the Pac next year like I do USC and for good reason.

Darnold was killing it with this TE over the middle. After he hit his TE for the third time on the same fvkng crossing route should have been about the time UW kept a safety or LB in the middle of the field to knock him on his ass .. but they didn't. Same with calling the blitzing way too late in the game. They should have started that shit earlier. On the offensive side of it UW should have forgotten about the bs trick plays and kept handing the ball off to Coleman ... not Gaskin. Coleman is more of a power type RB. Give him enough chances and he's going to start breaking tackles while wearing down the defense.

If Petersen knew any better he'd hire me as his OC. I'd have that shit running like a smooth Cadillac.

Ask any irish fan. Thats Brian Kellys MO the past couple years. Abandon the run too early become one dimensional and the other team just attacks the QB.

They lost the war in the trenches. I also know Petersen is a hell of a tactician and would have had a quite different plan in a rematch. I would have taken UW purely on the history and experience of both head coaches.

It was a solid season for both considering recent history so I don't really know why it's worth arguing over which had the slightly better season.

I think it is you trying to have it both ways, not him.

You brought up the OOC weakness and he simply said when you look at the conference record UW still did better. The conference record is far more level of a playing field than the entire season. UW only lost to USC. USC lost to Stanford and Utah, both are teams UW played and beat. Both played similarly against Utah and UW destroyed Stanford while USC lost 27-10 just two weeks prior.

I really don't care who thinks USC was overall a better team or who believes UW was. It's all just opinions. Of course I think UW was better and I'd have dropped a lot of money on the rematch had it happened, but that shouldn't be a shock to anyone either.

I certainly am not. I brought up schedule weakness. Not ooc weakness. An yes both played a similar conference schedule. But USC beat uDub head to head. Heck USC beat the two teams in the PAC champ game. Plus looked very good with darnold. That counts for something.

Alas it is an opinion thread.

Ahhh, the old transitive property. I love the transitive property. It is the only way my Miners can ever move up.

USC and Washington will most likely meet up this season in the PAC championship game and that should be a good one for sure. Chances are the winner of that game will head to the playoffs.
