It would help with the red zone woes.
Do we really need to run more? Ive been saying yes up till now. But when you think about it...why? Our passing offense has been terrific. Passing is more efficient. Maybe we should run more but it doesn't automatically follow that that's a good idea.
Its a fair question. We need to have the threat to run more, at a minimum. Just to keep the defenses honest if for no other reason.Do we really need to run more? Ive been saying yes up till now. we won 8 games when we rushed 20 plus times a game . take that to heart
There are several reasons to run more, I pointed it out last year:
1. Effective run game makes play action work better
2. Clock management/control
3. Beat on the opposition to wear them down
We do not need to be a run heavy team but it would be better if we were a run effective team.
All that said Jay Gruden is not going to become Ground Chuck. No worries there. This team is still going to throw the ball.
I agree with you for the most part. I guess that the exception is needing to run more & more effectively in the red zone. However - that is not the total solution. The Redskins might also improve in this area with the change in the WR corps. They are not really better than the previous group, but they are bigger & hopefully more efficient once the team is inside the 20.

or you run burn clock and score points . yes some of that is contrlling the ball with a big lead but again that is hugeThat is the worlds worst statistic. You run more when up, hence your record looks better when you run.

Maybe. It's not like I think running never has a place or value. But like that article shows - passing is pretty much always better.
