Possible.

Or, maybe it is because the Lakers have never played a meaningful game against LeBron. Nothing builds respect for a player more than when he rips your heart out as he single handedly destroys your team.

I'd also suggest that, generally speaking, Lakers fans have/had a hard time with the Kobe/Labron comparisons.

i think a lot of lakers fans started hating lebron once it became clear that he had eclipsed kobe and anyone trying to argue kobe was better all of a sudden wasnt taken seriously anymore.

LeClown's a dickhead. nothing to do with jealousy, as THIS twit is trying to suggest...:rolleyes2:

lol no way in hell. he avoids the west simply for this reason. not a guaranteed road to conf finals year after year. just think whatever team he on. you not adding to you replacing. if he on clippers not only do they not win no 8 rings they probably on average a 3 or 4 seed. now if its chris paul him...AND some other all star like hes HAD to have to win rings his whole career then maybe. you got to remember in west when you get to playoffs aint no teams as bad as bulls. blazers would sweep the bulls. blazers make conf finals in east.

If he went to a top team in the West his team could be even more talented. It definitely isnt out the question. I just dont know if you can find a better player to go alongside Lebron than Kyrie and the fact he is cold-blooded. I would take him over all the PG's when it comes to needing a game deep in the playoffs other than CP3. Curry is close

As a fan of a bunch of bad teams -- I've never had a problem having a 2nd team to root for during the playoffs.

Also as I've gotten older, I often root for close games ... 7 game series ... exciting finishes ... instead of rooting for a specific team. Nothing is better than a competitive series that goes the distance and two teams who don't like it other. ("I'm coming ...") Wiz/Celtics was only series really like this so far.

I always pull for the Lakers. When they are in the playoffs, obviously I pull for them. But I also usually pull for teams in other series just to make it more interesting and fun. It can change from series to series too. For example, I may pull for a team in one series and then be against them in the next one. Just depends on who's playing.

@Shanemansj13 was here.

The others are all newer to the board.

I'm a huge Cavs/Lebron fan. The biggest. Have been for a bout fifteen straight minutes. And I'll remain as such until such a time that they either win or lose the 2017 NBA finals, at which time, regardless of the outcome, I'll go right back to not giving a fuck about Lebron, the Cavs, or basketball in general.

Simply ignorant saying LeBron has intentionally avoided the West. His reasons for the team change decisions were abundantly clear. Had Wade and Bosh teamed up in the West,
he would have gone there. His return to Cleveland was for obvious reasons.

It is really foolish to say a guy who has played for exactly 2 different franchises has intentionally avoided a conference for his entire career because he wanted an easy path to the Finals. I know people are saying this, but there is absolutely no basis in fact to suggest that Finals path had anything to do with LeBron's decision making process.

Had he gone West, he would not have made as many for sure, but his precious "Finals record" would be a lot better. Also, since the Clippers were mentioned, if you replace Blake with leBron healthy Clips are every bit as good as the Warriors (at least the 2015 and 16 versions). LeBron is much better than Blake and he solves their wing issue.

Yeah, I don't know about the whole "Lebron intentionally avoided the West" narrative. Did the West being the tougher conference weigh in to his decision? Maybe.

But from what I have seen about the way it all happened, he was (at least when he went to Miami) looking to play with certain guys that he had formed friendships with. I think they all ended up on the Heat because the Heat were the team best equipped at the time to bring in all 3 players and be able to add quality role players as well.

Had he formed those friendships with players on Western Conference teams, then he likely heads West.

while LeBron never intentionally avoided the West- there have been PLENTY of player have purposefully avoided coming to the East to get stomped by LeBron.

thats been happening for years.

I wouldn't even be so sure that it would necessarily be players avoiding heading East as much as it is teams in the East choosing to slow down their rebuilds a bit waiting for Lebron to get old. We've seen, for example, the Celtics avoid making a deal for Jimmy Butler that most think would have given them a better shot at the Cavs and they didn't pull the trigger.

Might be a little of both though. I mean, if you're player and an Eastern Conference team is courting you, but you know that they don't have enough pieces for you to be able to get past the Heat when he was there and now the Cavs...why bother?
