Word.

Is Shania not available?

That would be awesome.

Especially if she wore a Leafs jersey.

She might be, but she probably knows the words already. I was thinking of how funny it would be to watch someone like Toby Keith try. Especially if he has to do the second verse in French.

This being the US, he should probably do it in Spanish instead.

Funny thing about a Southerner speaking French is that they end up sounding sort of like a rural Quebecois

Watching the replay of Geno's goal, it looked like Smith just gave up on the play. Not a great effort from him.

I'll say.

He also had a terrible fly-by on the Pens' game winner in game 2. He needs to pull his head out.

Less than three inches off center on the angle, he probably expected that was going wide. Hell of a snipe.

Dammit. I wanted to hear it.

And Anderson damn near got the one Geno put in. Stellar game by Craig.

Would be nice to have two teams that have never won it before go at it.

Plus I want to hear some Country Music star be forced to sing "Oh Canada".

I want to hear a country singer try the bilingual version of O'Canada

Where the sun don't shine?

What is with Geno anyway? He looks and plays like he belongs in a mafia.

Hell I want to start calling him Guido Malkin

He's a great player (probably best tools to enter the league since Jagr) who happens to have a good measure of fuckface in him. He's been allowed to get a away with murder for so long that he likely thinks he IS part of the Cosa Nostra.

Certain camps in Pittsburgh seem to think the Pens should switch back to Fleury for game seven.

Certain camps in Pittsburgh, I think, are being reactionary.

For my part, I think it's no coincidence the Penguins became a much better possession team again once Murray was put in the cage. So much stickier and better at handling the puck, helps his defense so much more, makes it a lot easier to control the puck out of the zone.

What camps would that be? Are they Rossi or from the Trib?

:burt:

Murray was not the reason they lost. At all. He played really well. Made a few tough saves look easy.

If Fleury had played last night and made the same stops and let in the same goals, certain media types (not all) would have been raving about him. Fleury would have made some of those saves look as tough (or tougher) as they were. Murray just plays a calmer game.

I didn't check the TOI but it seems like he played 25 minutes. He had to be gassed.

/edit 20:57 highest of any Ottawa forward

Also am I the only person in Pittsburgh who thinks the Daley goal being waved off was a good call?

Are Pittsburgh fans upset that the goal didn't count? When I saw it live, I didn't see much goalie interference, but on the replay, it was pretty clear that Daley gave Anderson a solid push back into his net before slamming the puck home. The right call was made in my opinion.

Yes at least on my Facebook page, any local article in the comments section, in my house, at my place of employment etc...

"should be in OT tied 2-2"
"Refs 2 Pens 1"
"the nhl is fixed"
*"the announcers hate us"
*"we never get calls"

I could go on but alas. The only reason the Penguins lost that game wears #41. Some whacko chick at work tried to tell me "Anderson didn't steal that game, he didn't do anything spectacular. *We just couldn't finish."

* My biggest pet peeve, it's not us or we unless you get a check every few weeks signed by Lemieux and or Burkle.

Anyhow if the Pens put 45 shots on Ottawa tomorrow night i cannot see them losing.

When it was 1-0 Pens last night and Anderson stoned Crosby twice within about a minute in the 2nd period, you could see those saves giving life/hope to the Sens players. Also, it looks like Bobby Ryan can indeed spell 'I-N-T-E-N-S-E'

It was absolutely the right call. Someone told me I needed to get my eyes checked when I pointed out Daley pushed Anderson into the net by the right skate, and that that's explicitly disallowed in the rule book. But it clearly did happen, and you can see it from several angles.

Damn, no kidding. He gets a 10+ for the Star Spangled Banner. Kelly Clarkson wishes she could sing it as well.
I gave him an 8/10 for O Canada though. Besides getting the words wrong in the middle (almost sounded like a foreign language :noidea:) he was a little weak. Which is understandable, he belted the first tune. Kid has a great career ahead of him.

Yeah I totally agree. I seriously wish he could sing it more often.
