Just look at the new Lincolns MKZs vs the new Jaguars. It looks like a bunch of these makes are looking more and more alike.

I think it's been this way for a while now.
Every SUV
Every 4 door Sedan.
They all look like each other.

The silhouettes all look the same.
Car makers have no balls anymore.

That was just an observation from someone who is not a car guy.

I can get the 07' or 08' Jaguars Type X or S (the last years when they had character) with about 100-120k miles for under $8,000 it looks like. I like the whole Jaguar sedan/towncar with the British racing green.

They'd be a nice 2nd car to have in my driveway.

Really just sort of a fancy Mondeo.

And an A4 is a fancy Passat
And a Cayenne is a fancy Touareg
And A CTS is a fancy G8
And a Continental is a fancy Phaeton
And a Lexus is based on a Toyota, Infinity - Nissan, Chrysler - Fiat, Mercedes - Dodge, Subaru - Saab....etc., etc., etc..

The automotive media played to death the fact that Ford platform shared the X-Type and Mondeo.
Like they were the only ones to do something financially responsible.

I get all that.

Still a fancy Mondeo.

But buying a used one if you like them makes sense.

My 2005 S55 AMG and 2010 S4 were well worth it.

car companies have run out of ideas on what cars should look like. They also at times come up with ideas/models that are too "out there" and I think that's hurt the industry

...Acura is a Honda, Genesis is a Hyundai, yep. No different than when Lincoln was just a luxe Ford, and a Caddy was an over-priced Chevy/Pontiac/Buick.

And competing car companies have always ripped each other off; the Camaro wouldn't exist without the Mustang
