If you would have bothered to read the article, and look at the years where attendance is high, WVU fans embrace winning, whether we are playing independent football, Atlantic 10 basketball, BE sports, or B12 sports. Shane Lyons has many sports winning right now, he has handled things well, building on the foundation built by EVERY AD before him.I thought DAD said WVU fans would never embrace the Big 12.
This is just one more reason WVU needs to build a statue to honor Luck.

You have posted some stupid shit before, but I think this one may take the cake!!WTF are you talking about? I read the article. You told me nobody cares about Big 12 teams. Now... you're saying it's about winning?
Shane has absolutely nothing to do with whether the athletic teams are winning or not.
The coaches he's hired have done shit so far...

Just what is it that you guys want Lyons to do? I am dead serious, things are running along pretty well right now, teams are winning, fans are coming, coaches seem to be who he wants, or at least can live with. Should he be doing something just to be doing something? I say no, there is no worse reason for doing something than just because someone else did it!!! That's how government works....
Ooohhh NO, Slaton. You can't ask for Shane's vision because that is considered bitching, right Another.I think it has been said already on other threads....King Ollie crafted a comprehensive plan to build Wv athletics for the "Now" and for the "Future"...Lyon's has done nothing but oversee what had already been set in motion...where is his plan? Where is his vision??...
Seriously... who has he hired? The Volleyball coach... and then who?
WVU Women's Volleyball... '15 5-24... '16 13-17
I find it funny that the guy who wanted to extend and give a raise to a .500 coach who was already making near $3million a year has anything at all to say about our AD. The guy who said WVU should hire and train a Div 1 football coach, that we should put up with mediocre football for an undisclosed time (five years wasn't enough, ten?) should not be pouring piss constantly on our AD. Funny how Luck gets props for hiring an asst coach to the HC job, and giving him time to learn the job through trial and error, but our AD is supposed to know the job from day 1....every time a game is won, these two "fans" will give Luck the credit, every time a game is lost it will be on Pastilong or Lyons......EVERY AD has made WVU what it is today, you guys want to praise Luck for making the only possible move, the desperation marriage of WVU and the B12, look back, friends to the balls required to leave the old Southern Conference, the leap of faith to join a fledgling BE football league, had WVU not got into the BE at that time, we would be in CUSA right now, with or without Luck!!!Ooohhh NO, Slaton. You can't ask for Shane's vision because that is considered bitching, right Another.
Everybody wants to give Shane a pass. Why? Because the teams are doing well? Didn't everybody bitch about Dana NOT being the right person to win the Big 12, let alone a NC? But Shane retained him. Why didn't he get out from behind his desk or away from the construction projects and find "that guy"? All of a sudden he has this unwavering pledge to help Dana because he just realized that football is the cash cow for the sports department. You know, that program that funnels money to other sports, like the rifle team, in an effort to keep them afloat.
Now we have someone ask what I expect out of Shane. The same guy who has wanted Dana out from day one is now alright with Shane's decision to retain Dana. Bet he is the first to bitch about Dana the first time something goes wrong during a game. What about our basketball program advancing? Boy that baseball stadium looks good as is packing them in, for a non-baseball town. After the stadium projects, what can we expect from Shane? More analysts? Where is the advertisements promoting West Virginia football. Living in the Pittsburgh area, I see Pitt all the time, but he doesn't do anything to promote in the tri-state area? Hell, through in Virginia, Maryland, and the D.C.-area. I guess VT - WVU isn't big enough to get your fan base excited about Mountaineer football.

Feel free to ask for Shane's vision. I'll judge him for his results. Luck put a good plan in place and Shane has done a great job implementing it. I think that Luck would have fired Dana two years ago. Shane wavered, but looking at attendance figures, it looks like it paid off. I find it amusing that you guys take a positive article and criticize Shane on what he has not done, or at least done publicly.
So our programs are doing well, winning more, getting more national exposure and tv appearances, graduating students at a better rate, remaining clean with the NCAA. Of course Shane has nothing to do with this success as he spent all his time botching the volleyball coach hire failing to market Pittsburgh, and above all has no plan.
First sentence - true, except for having anything to say about our current AD. Second sentence - I believe you were the one that said we should hire a Div 1 MAC coach. Keep your bullshit straight. I said that I'm alright with this hire because if we went out and selected somebody else, chances were we would be another stepping stone for that coach. Luck gets credit for setting us for success in the short amount of time that he was here. I gave credit to Pastilong for the good that he did, but he started pulling back the reigns when he had to be proactive. He sat on his hands living on the move to the BE. Great for basketball but for football, it turned to shit especially after the first round of defections. Pastilong fault? I don't think so but he should have seen the football side collapsing and should have been working an exit plan.I find it funny that the guy who wanted to extend and give a raise to a .500 coach who was already making near $3million a year has anything at all to say about our AD. Why can't No Balls bring Saban home? They both worked together at 'Bama and both are WV boys. Should be easy to bring a big name coach here. What about Jimbo? For real... Dana was supposed to win with one of the youngest teams in college football. We have fans constantly pouring piss on this HC... but hold a guy who couldn't recruit a full class in same regard as Urban Meyer.
