Now HerK K's on four pitches nowhere near the strike zone. :tsk:

Who's coaching these "hitters"?
I think I'm ready to join the fire Bam-Bam bandwagon. Its been long enough. These guys are too Shawon Dunston in their approach to hitting. It doesn't work very well.

Amazing. Both teams, after 8 full, have the same amount of hits (11 each). But the Dodgers have walked 8 more times and, interestingly enough, also have 8 more runs.

Thank goodness baseball doesn't keep track runs in the standings like hockey does with points.

40-60 in their last 100 reg. season games since the 2016 ASB.

40 runs scored in their last 16 games.

After this debacle, the Giants have the worst run differential (-40) in all of MLB.

Further poking around, I found these "wonderful" statistics about the team:

While the offense is 12th in total hits, 15th in doubles and 12th in triples, they rank 28th in runs scored and RBIs. That may have something to do with the fact that they are 29th in home runs and 27th in total bases (which puts them at 28th in on base percentage and 29th in slugging percentage). Only the Royals are a more inept group of hitters.

But the depressing news doesn't end there, friends! Not even close. The pitching staff's ERA is 27th, just .01 ahead of those Mets. And only 5 other teams have yet to throw a shut out, just like our amazing arms. This despite the team ranking tied for 6th for quality starts. Oh yeah, the team has allowed the most earned runs in baseball (and 3rd most runs)! At least we are only tied for 19th in batting average against and the bullpen is only 24th in bullpen ERA. Whew! Signs of encouragement!

This is our 2017 Giants!

And where are we with RISP? Not that it matters, because we aren't getting RISP all that often anyway.

MVPosey has 2 HR and 4 RBI in 20 games, working out to a 16 HR 32 RBI pace. Ii don't give a flying flip what his batting average is, he's paid to catch and drive in runs.

If it was just the 2017 season, I could grin and bear it. Unfortunately I think this is just the start of a 4-5 yr slide. 40:60 since the 2016 ASB

On the glass half full side, Stanford is 9:0 over their last games and sitting 2nd in the PAC. As much as I like ATT, I really love Sunken Diamond on the farm. Last year of Coach Marquess' (aka '9') 41st and final season, and the boys are in good position to start the playoffs - Oregon State be damned
