In reference to Ritz's comment about the other thread, some current players meet the 5 years requirement. So, the ones that don't are ineligible.

If they got drafted last year why couldn't they be eligible since it's All-Time draft just use their position they played the most at.

Actually this does make sense but it isnt an all-time draft then?...

I hate to rain on the parade, but the rules state there is a 5 year minimum, so that's what we should go with. I would have drafted differently if there wasn't a minimum.

It also says All-Time not 1920-2012 or 5yr Draft. I understand what you are saying but I don't think when @Shanemansj13 posted the rules he thought about the current players not meeting the 5yrs. I believe he made it 5yr eligibility not to eliminate players but to eliminate multiple positional players. Shane can you weigh in on this. If I new guys who got drafted after 2012 wouldn't be eligible I also would have drafted differently.

I meant all-time, that means everyone is eligible no restrictions. If a player hasnt played 5 years then they do not have a position requirement. I would have said that there are player restrictions and if you read the OP it says "no player restrictions". So if they havent played 5 years in the league you can put a PG at C for all that I care it could hurt you in the voting.

Sorry I didnt put that but I didnt think about it and I am surprised someone didnt ask me earlier.

3 lineups. 15 players. One unit plays one half. The other two units play a quarter a piece. No player restrictions but there are position restrictions.

A player had to play that position for 5 years to qualify.

If a player hasn't been in the league for 5 years, he doesn't meet the requirements. Sounds simple to me.

How about you not take them then and we will. Seriously so far no player who played after 2012 has been drafted so guys are still eligible. It was meant to be a NO restrictions draft and limiting players contradicts that.

... or we could just go by the rules that were stated at the beginning of the draft?

I really don't want to argue about this, but at the same time, as long as I have been doing these, rules have never been changed in the middle of a draft. And there were plenty of times that people have wanted to change them because something was overlooked. The last example off the top of my head is the NFL bucket draft with the AFC South thing where Houston was pretty much nullified and Jacksonville was close to the same. You really had to dig to meet those requirements unless you grabbed someone early.

And the reason I am being so vocal about this is because I would have drafted differently had that rule not been in place. And it seems much easier to rule some players ineligible (since none have been taken yet) than it does to change the rules. But that's just me.

Can we reach out to Nos and see if he can come up with a fair solution to this, since he is not affected one way or the other?

@Nosferatu
Hey I also don't want to argue this and also want a answer. I asked Shane about a player who didn't have 5yrs of playing time and thats when he realized the problem with how its written. We can ask Nos but I truly feel it should be up to @Shanemansj13 who created the rules. Listen I am not here to start shit but just like you want a clarification so we can continue drafting. I made my list thinking everyone was eligible and you removed some players because of how you perceived the rules. So Shane & Nos ???

1. You don't change the rules after the draft has started, ever!
2. You don't change the rules after the draft has started, ever!
3. If the rule was a player had to play a position 5 years to be eligible then players who have not played 5 years are ineligible!

Hope this helps...

Its not we are changing the rules we are clarifying them.

If you make it so a player who played less than 5 years is eligible you are changing the rules.

After reading the OP I don't understand why this is even a discussion.

The Red bolded words are the most important words, there are no player restrictions as long as they played a position 5 years. If the player hasn't been in the league 5 years then how could he have played a position 5 years?

Hey I'm not the one who made the rules. I am just pointing out the problem. Shane needs to clarify and I am fine with what ever you 2 decide.

There is really nothing to decide... But i'm just offering my opinion on how I would have handled it, you certainly don't have to listen to me.

I don't need to listen to anyone but my wife and that's only because I like to stay alive. Seriously what ever is decided is fine just saw a issue and pointed it out before we had a huge incident later after picks have been made.
