I've only had one Ford unless you count my current company truck.

Had an 89 F-150 long bed. It was a decent truck, but I like 5 speed. I gave it to my brother when he turned 16.

Dont know. Think i have food poisoning. Been barfing out both ends all day. Gonna go lay down and hope i die

@Peter Gozintite
This isn't the answer we were looking for.
That fucking truck isn't going to fix it's self.
Push through it. Man up.

Seriously, man up, no really, that thing about the coil when it gets hot sounds like it could be the problem.
If you put a brand new carb on it, it's not the carb.

4 Fords here.

91 Ranger 4x4.

98 Contour

91 TBird SuperCoupe

95 Taurus SHO

The only one I'd remotely call reliable was the SHO. And considering how I drove it it was reliable.

No more Fords for me.

I've always had good luck with vehicles, but then again, I am a truck man. Only POS I ever owned was a 92 Honda Civic that I had for maybe 2 months, and was quickly reminded of why I had always considered cars not used for racing to be useless.

84 Dodge Ram
87 Dodge Ram
89 F-150
94 Jeep Cherokee
88 Toyota pickup

Only problems I ever had out of any were minor and old age accounted for most of them.

And the 94 Jeep and that POS 92 Honda are the only vehicles I've ever owned that were younger than me.

Float's gotta be stuck. Get a rebuild kit and do it again.

Ethanol destroys those little things in no time.

Edit...AND check the little rubber plugs on the back of the carb for the lines not being used. I had one that cracked and was sucking air. It'll make it run instantly bad like yours did. It's a 10 cent fix and very common.
Brand new carb, and the hole is plugged. I even taped the threads when I took it out and checked it.
