Have you seen his roster? I have no issue with the # of shots. This roster sucks ass. Only issue I really have is all the jump shots he settled for. Needed to attack some more
His roster can't be that bad if he's averaging a triple double on the season with assists as part of that equation.

That's very stupid logic

Westbrook pretends to play defense too. More often than not he sags off his man in the corners. He plays the passing lanes to inflate those steal numbers. It's all about stat sheet with this dude. That game against the Suns towards the end of the season pretty much told the whole story. Blatant stat chaser.

Pretty clear that westbrook has a low IQ for the game when the game gets tight. I dont care what people say about his teamates. He did this same garbage with durant too. He stops trusting his teamates when things arent going well, plain and simple

Did you know Russell Westbrook has the worst roster ever assembled in the history of the NBA?

None of those guys could make the Junior Varsity Squad of an all girls school.
I think one of his teammates is missing both arms.
Smush Parker, Jimmer Fredette, and Adam Morrison would be instant upgrades over Westbrooks teammates.

Meanwhile Capela, Anderson, Beverly, and Ariza are HALL of FAMERS in their primes.
Those 4 guys would win 60 games alone with their levels of all NBA superstar talent.
Harden is blessed to play with the best roster ever assembled in history.

I think that is how every story regarding Westbrook is written now.

If you don't think Houston players minus Harden are not much better than the Thunder players minus Westbrook than you're an idiot. Simple as that

Swap Lou Will and Gordon for Grant and Christon. Talk about making stupid statements

Not only is Houston supporting cast better but they're the players Harden need around it. You surround superstars with shooters to make any defense pay for leaving one of the other players to help stop your superstar.

Houston's cast is much better offensively. OKC's cast is much better defensively. Yes, I think I feel both stars were removed Houston would be better, but I think would be like 33 wins for Houston and 29 for OKC.

I mean I'm not saying Houston are some playoffs team without Harden but it is obvious their supporting cast can help out Harden much more than OKC guys can do for Westbrook. OKC need to do something this summer. With this cast of characters, they will never get out of the 1st round.

So frustrating. Westbrook doing everything he can while the rest of the team shits the bed. Presti has got to get Russ some help. No way do they win 4 of the next 5. Not with this supporting cast.

How can his teammates help when they don't get the ball?

In the first half, Russ was phenomenal. The ball moved and the offense hummed like a well oiled machine. He was not involved in every play, and that is a good thing. OKC scored 68 points.

In the second half, it was the opposite. Westbrook went hero mode. Hell, he took 18 shots in the 4th quarter while his teammates combined for 8. He was 4-18, they were 3-8.

Sorry guys, but that loss falls squarely on Russ. If he played the same way in the second half that he played in the first, OKC would have won by double digits.

True.

Still though, saying Russ has terrible teammates completely overlooks what the roster was built to do. Defend and rebound. If Russ actually learned how to maximize his own talents and the talents of those around him, this Thunder roster would be a 55+ win team. That is what is so frustrating with him. He continues to repeat the same mistakes over and over. I am sure KD had a good laugh when he saw the highlights for this game.

Listen, I have zero doubt in my mind that the guy wants to win.

My problem is, it seems like he wants to win by his hand, or not at all.

Yeah, the sum of their parts...yaddy, yaddy, yaddy.

Morey put together a great roster to compliment Harden and hired the perfect Coach to maximize their talent.

But, two of those guys, Gordon and Anderson, played in NOLA together for years, with one of the most talented guys in the NBA.

That Team did Jack shit....partly due to injuries.

Lou only played with them for 1/3 of the Season and they were ROOOOOOLLLLLLLLLIIIINNNNG before he got there.

Yes, Westbrook has the inferior offensively talented teammates.

But, a large part of the reason the Rockets are so good is because Harden sets the table and shares the ball.......all 4 quarters.

Who do they trade?

Kanter?

They spent all their money locking up Olidipo and Adams.

A guy like Galinari or even Redick, if he can find his jump shot, would open things up for Adams.

They need a shooter in the worst way.

I have no idea but at least this summer they have more time to worry about to surround Russ with better talent. Last year they were focused on trying to bring KD back. Once he chose the Warriors, they basically had to settle for crumbs. Similar to Miami in 2014. Looking forward to see what they do this summer.

If Oladipo plays like he did in the regular season, they can still win this series. With the way he's currently playing, they will lose in 5.

They need a true PG with the ability to score in the worst way. This would allow RW to return to his natural position.

Hope they keep Taj.

I would also like to see them give Dougie McBuckets some more court time.

Clearly, they can't stop the Rockets.

So, maybe try to out shoot them?

Probably.

But, a true pg would be wasted because Westbrook needs the ball in his hands to much.

That's why I think They need to target shooters.

They need a Kyrie, Thomas type of pg, if they go that route.
