Not even Joe Montana in his prime could help that pathetic Bears team.
The Bears will be better next year, unless all but 3 starters go down again (an olineman, punter and kicker), even though they probably won't make the playoffs. But, I guess choking every year in the playoffs is better?

Getting to the playoffs is better than sucking every year.

I'd rather be rebuilding now than to have an overrated team of chokers lose in the playoffs every year. In sports you want to be at the top or bottom. Being in limbo like the cowboys is the worst place to be unless they can get lucky and win a Super Bowl. I doubt that happens any time soon.

Cowboys fans are optimistic because we have a solid young QB and the best RB in football. The Bears traded for a career backup QB with a 5-13 record as a starter.

I wouldn't say the best RB in football. You HAD the best o line, but didn't you lose a few olinemen to FA?

And Glennon got a one year deal to be a stop gap. The real future QB will be taken in the draft. It was a very solid move for a team patiently waiting for the right QB. Dumbasses like you who know ten percent of the story, but claim to know it all bash the move like we made another cutler folly.

They should just release Tony R and let him decide what's best. They aren't going to get a good return for him in a trade and they're only creating friction.
There is no reason for the cowboys to do anything right now

The Cowboys are chokers and you're a blind homer.

And now I'm done feeding this troll. It's pretty clear that's all you are on here.
You're the clueless homer thinking that your shitty team will be relevant this season. The Cowboys have proven they are a contender.

One team? You don't get out much...

and if you are talking about Dallas. Yup, they are still paying for the sins of the past, but they are miles better than they used to be. Which pretty much summarizes why they didn't cut Romo immediately and throw the $5M at the first FA they could find or restructure every possible player to bring in another FA. Garrett is running the show now and the needle is pointing up. If they cut/trade Romo before 6/1 they will be in great shape going forward. If they wait until 6/1 then the pain will continue into next year too...

I know they are better than they used to be, but they have to get out of that before I give them the benefit of the doubt. Giving a big extension to a 34 year old QB (at the time) is not a good move and I said it at the time.

There are also restructures they COULD do, but hopefully won't.

I concur.

That's what has them all fucked up in the first place, Romo's fat contract aside.

I don't like what they've lost in free agency, but maybe they get lucky in the draft again.

Do the Cowboys not have that much faith in Prescott being their franchise QB? IMO they should let Romo seek employment elsewhere.

Romo won't be in Dallas which shows their "faith" towards Prescott
It would be a good idea to read this thread you started

I'm not a Cowboys fan, I just think it's ridiculous that they haven't released Romo yet. Especially after Jerry Jones said they were planning on releasing him. Unless they believe they are going to get some unrealistic return, they should cut the cord.

A lot of us Cowboy fans did too. But look at the last couple of years. Maybe because they had no other choice, but they are starting to think beyond today. Better late than never...

To be fair, Joe Montana is pretty old and hasn't played pro ball for a looong time. ;)
That reminds me of a funny Ted Williams story I heard a couple of times (assume it's true). During the juiced ball era a writer was talking to Ted Williams and asked him with the way all of these players are putting up insane numbers what batting average he thought he would have if he played in this era. Stunned when Williams said 'I don't know, 280, 285? He said 'really that's it'??? To which Williams replied 'well I'm friggin 80 years old, what do you think I would hit'...

And IMO that is the reason the offers aren't there. Jerry is an idiot and instead of keeping his big mouth shut he says crap like that and shows his hand and now teams are just waiting. It makes no sense at all that a team that wants Romo won't give up a late pick. I don't even think the contract should be an issue, but I get that at least. But, not giving up a 5th rounder for a guy that could literally be the difference between playoff success for a team like Hou is insane IMO

I said Joe Montana in his prime. Please learn how to read.

"In my prime I could have handled Michael Jordan; of course, he would have been only 12 years old." Jerry Sloan.
