Well wins at Maryland and at Wisconsin along with wins over Purdue, ISU and Michigan should at least get Iowa in the conversation if they can take care of PSU Sunday

Probably have to at least make the finals of the B1G tournament. RPI was 90 before today's win.

If they go solely off RPI Iowa is screwed. If they look at the actual resume I thinl they've got a shot with a trip to the Semi's. assuming they beat Penn St of course. RPI did jump to 74 after this win though so if they can get it to 60ish they'll have a shot

The fact that this version of the B1G could get 8 teams in the tournament only underscores just how poorly the A-10, AAC and Mtn West have been this year. There's about 5 additional bids up for grabs since those conferences are so bad this year.
All right brother I was talking out my ass on Iowa before this game, dreaming big dreams but now tell me what you're thinking my Hawks gotta do to make this reality mm obviously they've got to beat PSU and then win the opener in the tourney but is that enough or do they need to make the Semi's or the finals?

I honestly think they'll need to make the Finals to have a chance. The RPI is currently in the 70's. If they go 1-1 in the B1GT that won't be enough. If they go 2-1 that will put them in a position, and then I can see it going either way, at that point, I wouldn't be surprised if they got in, or were left out. I think it's need to be 2-1 at a minimum, however. That loss to Omaha could seriously be the thing that keeps them out. Winning that doesn't do anything to the resume, but having 14 losses instead of 13 losses is a big difference. The most losses ever for an at-large bid was 14. So if they don't win the B1GT they would be making some history by getting an at large selection.

Worst thing would be for us to lose to Wisconsin and have MSU beat MD. I think if tie-breaker scenarios are correct in my thinking, the Gophers would slip to the 5 seed and not get the double bye.

Sounds right. The Omaha game sucks and the bad call at Minnesota probably cost us the win there too. Either of those go the other way and we are probably in pretty good shape. I'm just excited for the future at this point. Making it this year never really seemed possible to me so even having a sniff of it is great. Best part about last night is if we can beat PSU we will avoid the 8/9 game and a matchup with Purdue in the Quarters. Purdue abd Minnesota are the only 2 teams I dont want to see in the Quarters

Yeah really sucks about the missed call against Minnesota, having 6 top 50 wins with only 12 losses at this point would have put Iowa in a position to just go 1-1 in the B1GT to likely get a bid. Yeah at this point it looks like Iowa will be the 7 seed. Which will put you up against the winner of Ohio State vs. Indiana this weekend. The top 6 of the conference is still undecided based on what happens this weekend. If the Gophers beat the Badgers on Sunday, believe it or not we'll be the 2 seed so you'll match up with us in the Quarters. Which would be a heck of game. But I'm still not certain we'll beat Wisconsin.

I should say 2-6 is undecided. Purdue has wrapped up the #1 seed.

Would like Michigan to win this last one to lock their bid. Don't want to start testing fate.

Fuck yeah! Double bye! Gophers will be at worst the #4 seed for the B1GT. With a win will be #2 seed. Either way it'll be the best seed the Gophers have ever gotten in a B1GT. Just need 1 win to reach Saturday, which is a great accomplishment for the Gophers.

I think so too, but I don't want to tempt fate with only 19 wins and coming off three straight losses to NW, Nebraska, and say Illinois.
