Davis isnt even in the top 30 in yards, the mark of consistency is essential to not water down the RB HOF selection. Davis benefited from blocking and a fucking amazing QB. Crazy the guy played i think 4 complete seasons. Every now and then one slips by.

Not good enough.

Elway was overrated

The guy played 4 fucking season and won a superbowl, can someone do a fact check of similar RBs but not in the HOF, i feel like you can find a few?

Honestly i dont ever remember anyone going "Well Terrell davis is going to take over t his game" All i remember is "ELWAY ELWAY ELWAY CHEVROLET OF DENVER!!" something like that

Haha just reading everything you have wrote in this thread shows how little you even know about the person you are trying to say doesn't deserve to be in the HOF.

First off there are no RB's that have had a run like TD that are not in the HOF. Only 1 RB rushed for more yards in the first 4 years of his career and that is Eric Dickerson. There are only 6 RB's in NFL history that even come close to having the kind of start TD did when it comes to yards, TD's, Yards per carry, and so on. The other 5 are in the HOF.

He is by far the most prolific RB in NFL history when it comes to the playoffs. In the playoffs he averaged 142.5 yards per game. In fact only had one game his entire playoff career where he didn't rush for 100 yards. The next closest player is John Riggins at 110.7 yards per game.

He is also one of only a handful of players with a 2000 yard rushing season. IN fact he owns 2 of the top-30 rushing yard seasons in NFL history. There are 9 guys in the HOF that don't even have 1 season that amounted to the top-30 in NFL history. So while his career was short it was dynamic. So much more I could add to this but I"ll let you catch up here just a bit to try and actually understand the person you are trying to rip on.

Please other than a shortened career by injury give me a good reason he doesn't deserve to be in the HOF? Every other criteria he blows away the competition.

If Terrell Davis is in the HOF than Shaun Alexander deserves consideration.

There is one huge difference between TD and all of those guys. TD adds to his resume the greatest playoff RB of all time. When the games mattered most there has never been a better RB in NFL history. So yes while those other guys like Alexander, Craig, and Lewis have longevity to add some nice stats to their resume over that of TD they do not have the playoff success.

Personally, I don't think he should get in. I'm strict with my opinions on HOFs in general. You have to be great (not just very good) and you have to have longevity. TD just doesn't have the longevity.

So would you kick out guys like Gale Sayers, Bo Jackson, Sterling Sharpe, Tony Boselli, and Kenny Easley? All had shortened careers because of injuries.

TO can get in after Pearson, Fryer, Bruce, & Ellard are in. Big glut still at the position.

Absolutely no way Pearson belongs in the hall.

I don't think Irving Fryar belongs in either, it's not the hall of playing a long time.

TO is an ass hole but he deserves to be in before any of the receivers you mentioned.

Just my opinions...

I found one that is in the HOF. His name is Gale Sayers and his numbers are not as good as TD's.

TD had all the important stats for a RB 99 rypg 2nd all time behind Jim Brown, only 1 fumble per 85 touches, and 77 TDs in 86 games. 97(2656 yards and 23 TDs) and 98(2762 yards and 26 TDs) were both top 5 all-time RB seasons
