Nebraska has one month until signing day with 7-10 spots to fill... who's at the top of the recruiting board heading into that day? Here's what I think.

1. Joseph Lewis (5-Star, WR) - Lewis is down to USC and Nebraska and is leaning towards USC (who just had a WR decommit recently) at this point. He's still Nebraska's #1 target across the board but he will have a visit at the end of the month with USC which could solidify things. Lewis is weighing staying near home with near guaranteed playing time at Nebraska and a position coach he loves.

2. Greg Johnson (4-Star, ATH) - Johnson is a dynamic player and can play all over the field for Nebraska or any team. Nebraska continues to be the team to beat because of his relationship with Donte Williams but USC again is looming large.

3. Tyjon Lindsey (4-Star, WR) - A familiar face and name just popped up again as he decommitted from OSU. Nebraska is the clear favorite here and likely gets Lindsey to visit soon.

4. Deommodore Lenoir (4-Star, CB) - Lenoir continues to be an Oregon lean even after his decommitment but Nebraska is hanging on for dear life. Lenoir is supposedly visiting Nebraska late in January. He's called Oregon his dream school so it's tough to imagine he ends up somewhere else but if Nebraska can get a visit anything can happen.

5. Damion Daniels (3-Star, DT) - Daniels has long been consider a Husker lean that just hasn't pulled the trigger yet. Nebraska will be in home with him to try to seal the deal ASAP.

6. Isaac Slade-Matoutia (4-Star, LB) - Slade is supposed to visit Oregon this weekend and if he doesn't commit Nebraska will go full bore on him ASAP. Oregon is the favorite here.

7. Bryan Thompson (3-Star, WR) - Thompson is one of the only big bodied WR left on the board for Nebraska. He too seems to be leaning Oregon's way. Will visit both schools soon.

8. Kurt Rafdal (3-Star, TE) - Rafdal is an Indiana decommit after they let their TE coach go. He would be more than a capable replacement for Reese Leitoa as the two were neck and neck for a commitment to Nebraska earlier in the year. Decision could be made this week.

9. Elijah Blades (4-Star, CB) - Blades is a soft commit to Florida and he's from California... let that sink in. He has a great relationship with Donte Williams too. If Nebraska misses out on Lenoir (and they probably will) Blades may flip as he could be visiting in January.

10. Gavin Holmes (3-Star, WR) - Holmes visited Nebraska in November and has since seen his stock shoot up considerably. Nebraska is the favorite here and yes, they would take him even if Lewis and Lindsey wanted in.

11. Kamren Curl (3-Star, ATH) - Curl is an interesting case... all signs pointed to him staying close to home but he says Nebraska is one of, if not THE, his leaders currently. Nebraska wants one safety in this class... Curl can play Safety or CB.

12. Jeremiah Hawkins (3-Star, WR) - Current Cal commit is visiting this weekend after Dykes got let go. If Cal hires Chip Kelly don't expect movement here.

13. Robert Beal (4-Star, DE) - Beal is a Georgia commit and has been looking around. He says he might visit Nebraska on the 20th of January. I wouldn't hold my breath on flipping him.

14. Tyler Shelvin (5-Star, DT) - Another guy JP has gone after hard, current LSU commit, has talked about visiting Nebraska (supposedly this weekend). Not likely to flip.

15. Lynn Bowden (4-Star, ATH) - Nebraska was in his top 5 but it looks like it's either Kentucky or MSU at the moment.

I'm sure there could be other names that pop up but Nebraska would most certainly be fine with taking 7-10 of these 15.

I think should get Lindsey, Johnson, Rafdal and Daniels for sure... not sure about the others. Most are possible... Holmes is defenitely another one I feel good about.

I think we can get Hawkins if we want him, though other WRs are probably higher in our board. I highly doubt Cal can afford Chip...their AD is one of the most inept in the country and they are in a ridiculous amount of debt.

not happening, only reason I included them was they both have said they want to come visit. I would be shocked if either actually did visit.

Hooray, less than three weeks to go.

BUT!!! The recruits could actually make it go thru April 1, 2017, if they wanted to. But then, you have to worry about classes filling up, and only the the true bona fide studs could hold college football by the nuts until April 1 and make a college pull a scholarship from another player or some other BS.

The way last Saturday's Army game turned out, I lost a lot of interest. Kids I thought were coming to Nebraska, and I was excited for, have changed their minds. I don't need to focus my energies on that happening anymore and being let down.

I will focus on the recruits who send in their NLI on February 1.

Thanks for doing these man.

Could be a game changer with Holmes if we hire the right DC.

Can confirm he called Williams... also hearing (not confirmed) that we are no longer recruiting him.

Considering his mom's comments today I doubt that's the case now.

You're not gonna turn down Calvin if he wants back on board after how hard we went after him unless there's something we don't know.

Would be strange behavior from a Riley led staff to cut a guy off because they felt spited.

My guess is "stopped recruiting him" would be more of a "if x and y commit first, you're missing the boat".

He's holding off until signing day according to his mom now, so he very well might miss said boat.

I mean if we get Lewis, Johnson, Lyndsey. And Calvin. I think Johnson could play both ways out of that bunch.

I really want Lenoir tho

I'm not sure his mom's words account for much in this regard. It will be interesting if Williams goes to visit him, I doubt it happens. When a kid spurns you for Oregon State on national TV and is concerned about home life already it doesn't bode well. I think the concern now is that even if he ends up coming to Nebraska... would he stay?

If 7-10 of these guys were signed right now, we'd be anywhere from 15th to 6th in the country depending on who they are.

247 has a neat little calculator.
