Firing Offensive Coordinator Lane Kiffin a week before the national championship game was maybe the most un-Saban thing that was committed by Nick Saban.

Kiffin who brought you multiple championships with first year starting quarterbacks and got you to the National Championship with a first year Freshman starting quarterback was fired by Nick Saban. Bringing unusual attention and distractions for the Crimson Tide just days before the biggest game of the season.

You now place a guy you hired midseason to take over your offense, who Jalen Hurts didn't even know until this prior week of practice and expect him to deliver a national title winning performance.

What was so odd about this was a usual mastermind of the game, Nick Saban, let his emotions get the best of him and canned Lane Kiffin to send a message, but he sent the message to the wrong people. In doing so, he cost his team a national championship.

This move was just odd from the beginning. Probably should have just kept Kiffin for 1 more week.

Think it was just the one championship you face was with them. But still I was shocked Saban did that too.

Either way we're all fucked. If bama wins Saban is that much closer to being bored/ distancing himself above the elite coaches. Now we will have to deal with him until he makes sure our grandkids know of him.

The offense didn't cost Bama that game.

Maybe. But with that defense, 31 should have been plenty.

True story: On the last play, the defender that should have been holding the receiver who caught the winning touchdown - was distracted looking for Lane in the crowd.

Kiffin being gone helped more than hurt, imo. Yeah yeah I know all the reasons why that sounds crazy but Sark didn't just walk in off the street. He's been here since September.

What lost the game last night was simply that Hurts is a true Freshman QB who hit his ceiling for the year. Clemson felt comfortable putting more in to stopping the run and making Hurts beat them through the air. Too many 3 and outs, dumb and untimely penalties on the offense and inconsistency from the offense put the defense out there for way too long (over 100 plays if I remember correctly) and quite honestly its pretty incredible Clemson didn't score more than 35.

Saban is still the best coach in CFB and one loss to a damn good team at the last second isn't going to change that. When Saban starts having seasons like the one Oregon just had then I'll start to question him.

Such lack of discipline on the 'bama defense is deplorable. How could he not be holding?! Sad.

makes me feel for the Ohio State defebse even more with how well they played just to hold Clemson to 31 when the offense turned it over 3 times and didnt move the ball at all
